...I wish we could move past the 'march' bit as a form of political action as there is abundant evidence that it is not particularly effective.

I think people instead should organize around using their buying power to influence policy through economic boycotts and socially responsible consumerism.

6. i, and partner, will also be at the march, we live here, too.

yes, it is tiresome, yes, it seems ineffective, and yes, the media will probably ignore it, or downplay it.

but it serves a purpose for us, if no one else.

i always feel so angry, yet absolutely exhilarated, when marching. i look around and see the wide range of people who are as angry as i am, and its not just a few, a fringe element, just radicals. its people from all segments of american society.

i so love nyc, i would hate to live anywhere else (may 1st will be seven years!). this town GETS IT!

and maybe, just maybe, the turning point will come and the media WILL report it honestly and accurately.

i do hope that when they do, that we won't all be sitting at home because it seems ineffective.

we can only do what we can do. if marching is it, i'm there.
