I am lonely
Edited on Sat Apr-15-06 08:38 PM by Chomp
I am lonely.

I live on my own.

I don't have a wife or girlfriend.

My family are far away.

I have recently moved to a new city, and don't really know anyone.

Sadly, I have kind of lost contact with people I used to know in the old days.

BUT I STILL HAVE MORE FRIENDS THAN DONALD RUMSFELD!!! HA! IN YOUR FACE, RUMMY!!

5. I'm certainly no friend of the Rummy
But I'll be yours! :)

Donald Duck certainly needs to be thrown back into the pond, but of all the assholes in this administration, I have to say that Rummy is the most entertaining. I'll pass on a *ush news conference but Rummy cracks me up.

6. Look up the people you knew in the old days and call 'em!
I always like to hear from people I haven't seen in a long while -- it is always fun to catch up. One never knows if it will 'click' again as it had before, but it is fun seeing people at least for a few hours.

:bounce:

9. Hey there, Chomp. Welcome to these boards. A warm welcome and
are you really in Ireland? If so, terrific. There are a lot of folks around who hold Ireland very high.

Agree with you on Rumsfeld. He's probably having a lonelier weekend than most of us.

If you are still feeling a bit marooned so far from older friends and family, feel free to PM me.

Meanwhile, we welcome you aboard. Hope to run into you again.

10. Calling old friends is good advice
and so is making new ones. I've had to retrain myself over the years to open up to new friends and start over. It doesn't always come easy, but it is worth it. There are great people everywhere. And the people on DU will always be here to listen.:)

There's MoveOn, DFA, and even some DNC meetups where you could easily meet like-minded people.
