Did anyone attend Russ Feingold's listening sessions last week?
Or know how things went? There was a rumor RW goons might try to disrupt the sessions.

1. I missed mine, but let me tell you...
Russ LOVES it when RW'ers come to these things (in fact, he encourages it - he wishes everyone would come and question him). Every time I've seen Russ confronted by one, he defends himself miraculously and the RW'er often leaves embarassed. When it is a good hearted conservative who questions him, they often leave converted (at least on the topic discussed).

3. I didn't hear a word about it in the news
so I don't think anything happened. A friend of mine went to one, and she said people were asking him "how can we get our country back"... which is kind of pathetic.

Feingold doesn't avoid people, he makes himself pretty available. So I think he runs a much lower risk of having protesters than someone who avoids the people he represents.

I live in WI, and I am working with a Repub who has a Bush Cheney sticker on his car. I asked him if he would vote for Feingold if he ran for president and he said, no he is way too liberal. But he's a nice guy and along the way we've had a lot of conversations about everything from Walmart to Homeland Security, the deficit, abortion, you name it. Turns out we agree on almost everything, and I am definitely someone most Repubs would consider a "liberal".

I am left wondering exactly what it is about Feingold that he thinks is too "liberal".
