Neil Young's ENTIRE album to be anti-Bush/ Iraq war!
http://enjoyment.independent.co.uk/music/features/article358210.ece

Holy cow! Can't wait...

It started as a rumour - gossip shared by fans on internet chat sites. Could it true, they asked? Could Neil Young, a cultural lodestone for a generation of country rock fans, really be turning his attention to President George Bush and the war in Iraq? Now Young himself has confirmed it. Not only has he recorded an entire album about the conflict, but in one of the songs he spells out who he thinks is to blame for the ongoing chaos and violence and what the consequences for that person should be. That track is called "Impeach the President".

<snip>

Further details about the album came from Jonathan Demme, the film maker who produced the recently released documentary Heart of Gold about the singer-songwriter. "Neil just finished writing and recording - with no warning - a new album called Living With War," he told the music magazine Harp by e-mail. "It all happened in three days ... It is a brilliant electric assault, accompanied by a 100-voice choir, on Bush and the war in Iraq ... Truly mind blowing. Will be in stores soon."

2. I can't wait
I will buy it just to support him on his message. I bought the Dixie Chicks album to support them. Pink is on my list of must haves for this reason of support. What makes it even better, I like Neil Young's music.

3. It seems like we're seeing a lot of artists not just talk about it, but..
actually write about it.

Dixie Chicks, Pink, and now Neil Young; all within the past month.

Are we finally starting to see a rebirth of a 'sixties' type revolution?

5. Not hardly, and............
........ I really believe that without a draft, the level of outrage will never reach the young people, the ones who need to populate any truly meaningful and continual protest.

Our kids are safe and isolated from all this, lost in their own worlds, which is wonderful, but, alas, if their fat is not in the collective fire, as it would be with a draft - as it was in the sixties - they will stay in their own worlds, and not care. They will not understand that their futures are being lost.

8. If I was a gambling man...
I'd bet a pile of money that it will get zero airplay on commercial radio. But I have always liked Neil Youing, way better than the Dixie Chicks and Springsteen and am looking forward to his new release. Kick ass Neil!!!!

9. if it sells as well as I think it will
as in 'blockbuster hit', plus the whirlwind of controversy on the cable news programs (mainly FUX network and MSNBC's "Hardball")it will get lots of free publicity, further boosting album sales... not to mention sales 'round the B*sh-hating globe!

I am a BIG NY fan- I have all his old stuff (didn't care for his experimental phase) and am so excited that more great music is on the way but best of all, CALLING OUT THE EVILDOERS and demamding impeachment. Can't wait... can't wait...

And the impeachment ditty is a 'rap' song, using Bush's voice with a choir of "FLIP-FLOP"s in the background!

:applause:
