1. We were there. My husband told me that one of the horse guys told
a female vet that "they should all be shot" or something to that effect. What is WRONG with these people?

I've decided that these "pseudo-macho men" are overcompensating. My husband calls their type "little dick". :-D

10. Surprised my next door neighbor wasn't there
Edited on Mon Apr-17-06 10:33 AM by stanwyck
she's a gung-ho Christian conservative Bush-lover. She says she's been trying to convince her 22-yr. old son to enlist. He's relunctant. (imagine that). He loves Bush, too, one of those Young Republicans who prefers to fight the war "over here."
And she said she'd enlist if they'd take her...I guess that's a pretty safe bet. My understanding is that the military is not yet desperate enough to enlist a 53-yr. out of shape mother of three.
I detest that kind of empty boasting. My son chose to join the Marines. He's been to Iraq twice and will go again. His decision to enlist. We support him.
But to hear her son with his gung-ho nationalistic fervor spoken from the safety of the sofa while his mother maintains "I'd enlist now!" just makes me tired.
This is meaningless babble, as empty as these clowns on horses.
Can't these war cheerleaders find more meaningful activity? Like visiting the wounded soldiers in the hospitals? Or babysitting the children whose Mom/Dad - in some cases, both - are "over there?"
I'm tired of hearing them speak such drivel.
