Republicans will sneak to the polls in November...
Like those little weasel pets that slink around the corners of the house. They will slip into the polls early, hoping no one notices them, and pull the lever for the Republican Fascists once again. And they will quietly slip away not taking any responsibility for their votes or the consequences that follow. They will tell themselves that they are protecting the little babies and keeping those evil liberals out of power and preventing those homosexuals from getting married. And the rest of us have to live with the decisions of these bigots.

7. Many also do so for purely monetary reasons

Republicans in the higher tax bracket don't care if social programmes are cut, or if the national debt grows ever higher, they want their tax cut and to hell with everyone else.

The last time I was in the US I talked to a gay Republican. We shared anxieties over homophobia in the U.S., creationism in the classroom, and two botched wars. He explained to me that he voted for Bush in 2004 because "Democrats raise my taxes". I found it hard to quantify how someone could drop all ethical objections and vote for the sake of a tax cut he didn't need (he's a lawyer and earns a lot of money already).
