CNN: Showbiz Tonight will do a piece on "unpatriotic Hollywood."
I almost fell off my chair while playing CNN in the background a few moments ago... I had to rewind the Tivo just to be sure I heard it correctly. Here it is, verbatim:

CNN Anchor: "What are you working on for 'Showbiz Tonight'?"

CNN Entertainment Reporter: "Well, something a bit more serious. From the #1 movie in America (I think she's referring to Scary Movie 4) to some of the nation's biggest music legends (I think she's referring to Neil Young), why can't showbiz cut President Bush a break? You won't believe the stunning swipes at the President that some are calling unpatriotic. Later, on Showbiz Tonight."

I can't even describe the disgust and emphasis in the reporter's voice as she talked about tonight's segment.

It's staggering, isn't it? One of the most unpopular presidents in modern history, and CNN still bends over backward to defend him against entertaining swipes that appear in comedic film!

Unbelievable.

22. And the new Dixie Chicks album doesn't come out for a month.
Imagine what they'll do when that happens.

That's cool, though, because I'm not ready to make nice, either.

2. Cut him a break?
Why doesn't george go to any of the funerals he is responsible for? CNN can do a story on me. I haven't cut the motherfucker a break since he deserted his military unit to avoid a drug test. I proudly served. He dishonored his service and his country; and still does.

4. They don't even try to hide their bias!
I just can't tell you how upset the reporter seems to be that Hollywood won't kiss her beloved Chimp's ass, the way the news media does.

I set up "Showbiz Tonight" to record tonight. I gotta see this.

The breaks ran out before Hollywood got the chance.

33. Some say....
"I want to know who the men in the shadows are, I want to hear someone asking them why, they can be counted on to tell who our enemies are, but they're never the ones to fight or to die..." CNN is UNPATRIOTIC! Since they love to throw that phrase around, let them wear it! They certainly have earned it.

6. Unpatriotic (friggin) CNN!
Of course, corporate citizens don't have to be patriotic, do they? Their entire business model depends on their lack of patriotism.

12. Wonder how much "CNN Entertainment Reporter" is getting paid to shill
that drivel. Or what they have on him/her.

Or how many times Rove or a reasonable facsimile threatened the subtle variety of busted kneecaps if they don't start shilling for * again.

16. Fascinating, too, how CNN's Headline News used to be just that.
Now, they drop in hour-long infotainment programs like Showbiz Tonight and Nancy "I'm Shrill" Grace in place of real, hard news.

Nice to see they're doing some hard, investigative journalism over there at CNN Headline News.

Of course, the word "unpatriotic" doesn't appear in that article. I guess CNN thought they'd throw that in themselves.

ON EDIT: Oh, and I did want to point out a wildly inaccurate quote from that article, Cat...

"It sends up the current administration with Bush and Dick Cheney look-alikes (Dennis Quaid and Willem Dafoe, respectively)."

:wtf: :wtf: :-)

24. there are a couple movies that make fun of Bush
and all of a sudden, it's an "epidemic"?

I can't count the number of movies that poked fun of Clinton - then AND now.

Like it's Hollywood's fault that Bush and Cheney are greedy, immoral, out-of-touch inbreds.

Yeah,

right :eyes:

Their swiftboating of John Conyers is a perfect example. They are jealous of Fox and determined to outFaux them.

PATHETIC.

19. This is how corporate media deflects the FACT that war profiteers OWN the
news media. They put up the front that there is a liberal media controlling the way people think about Bush, when all along it is the NEWS MEDIA that pushed his false credentials, his false war, and attacks all his opponents....eventually.

25. I saw the trailer for Scary Movie
I guess they are doing a mockery of F/911- Michael Moore. BUT it was actually a better mockery of Emperor Bush doing exactly what he actually did on 9/11 which is nothing but sit there and continue with the children's book. I was kinda of shocked they were mocking el presidento-but you know how "liberal" hollywood is. It's always shocking to see the truth. And I'm sure according to CNN-the truth is liberal. Lies are conservative. Funny how that works. The president who did nothing and ran on it as his greatest moment. I never get over the rage.
