3. Didn't we hear 36% a week ago?
And wasn't that before _______* hit the fan? I don't even remember what. If it's not one scandal, conflict of interest, or theft, it's another.

So why isn't it lower than 36% if this is a new poll?

*I have a feeling I'm thinking about Libby saying he was authorized to leak.

This would be a new low for Gallup.

considerable decrease, no matter which poll. You're correct that I was probably thinking of another poll.

go, even if he showed up naked on TV every day, drunk, vomiting, and sodomizing a baby goat. A third of the people would still consider him their hero.

20. I edited the headline. I think Bush did hit 36 in the Gallup...
before last, but inched up to 37 in the last. So this 36 is a Gallup low, but not a new low. I think Wolf may have used the phrase "new low," and if so, he was technically not quite correct.

26. Do you mean the floor for Bush?
Or the overall floor?

I think Bush has set a new low (even lower than Nixon who got a 20+% approval rating after Watergate), so it ought not be the floor. There ought to be lower poll numbers. Bush has reached the nadir.

..why the White House isn't doing a good enough job of communicating Bush's message to the American people?

Did he also worry about what Bush could do to bring his unfairly low (from Blitzer's perspective) poll numbers back up to where they belong?

11. Who is fudging these polls?
That's a pretty striking accusation to make. Care to elaborate? Care to explain how a number of polls by reputable polling agencies/organizations all have Bush at around the same approval level (mid-to-high thirties)?

Funny how both freepers and, startlingly, some DU'ers, think the polls are being faked, either too high or too low. Both at the same time! Amazing, huh.

Edited on Mon Apr-17-06 03:50 PM by endarkenment
and that is fairly common knowledge. The Gallup organization is headed by the original Gallup's son, and he is a fundaloon with a major axe to grind. So your op is at least partially correct. The consensus polling numbers are likely to be 2-3 pts lower than what Gallup is reporting.

Baghdad Blitzer is trying to put the prettiest face on the pig, but the pig still smells like the pig!

Bush's SHIT is ABSOLUTE! The shitty end of the stick is the best the GOP has to offer our country. Bush "Values" the Families in China and India more than he values the families in the US. The only family bush REALLY, values, IS the Bush Family.

45. That's the Chimp leading the blind...
Edited on Tue Apr-18-06 05:35 AM by Hubert Flottz
The GOP is blind to anything but the cheerleading going on in the oval orifices of power, in Washington. The GOPers gots lots of cheerleaders, but no Quarterback...Just a half ass is all they can trot out. Their King,(leader),(Fuhrer),(pResident),is the prince of pricks and the Jet Set petrol banker's version of Moses Dillinger. America has never seen a super zero, the magnitude of our holder of the atomic football in Chief...

Drilled is how we should all feel, every time we pull into the gas pumps. Drilled in the ass pocket, "in a time of war!" I think the terrorists have taken over our gas stations and Bush didn't even fire a shot, or an unkind word, in America's defense. He's letting the Saudis and the Exxons rape, pillage, and plunder, the free world, at will. The man is trying very hard to bankrupt America and cause further and even worse calamity to befall the country. The man is not the enemy of the state, but the state seems to be the enemy of the man.

The man has never really grown up and he is just been "leading" us into one disaster after another, with the help of the ENTIRE GOP... They SELECTED him... They Even Cheated To Get Him The Job...They have marched in Lock Step with him...They have helped him and the terrorists drag the country down into the dirt...and now they will beg for the voters to be kind and vote for them. The GOP has shit in 99% of the Easter baskets in America and the world, "won't you help them" continue to screw you some more?

BLIND FAITH, ain't ever, gonna' get it done...

Raw, Unvarnished, Reality, awaits them some day, one can only hope...

I hope in the not too distant future, that times get so hard on the GOPers, that pigshit seems like a party favor, to the likes of America's home grown tormentors in Washington.

If we stick with Bill Frist and his ilk in 2008, we just might find ouselves used as some kind of test dummies, in the pResident Doktor's Viagra improvement program/expiriments, in about 2013 or so, in a halliburton built civilian Detainment Camp in the woods, down near Bumfuk Tenn.

21. For those who think this is not low enough...
I certainly agree... I think he ought to be in the low teens, at least. However, I don't know about this new Gallup poll, but in several of the others that have him in the mid thirties, there was also a subset of the poll wherein those who STRONGLY disapproved of his performance was as high as 47% or so. Now that is pretty serious stuff.

You either love him or you hate him... I'm just glad there are now more of the latter than the former. Hah!
