In discussing the basic fact that the IDEALOGUES were CORRECT about Iraq. Too bad, he says. If only the Generals had just stood up BEFORE the war!

So...the idealogues were CORRECT. But too bad we spoke up? How about, too bad you didn't listen to us, you stupid fucking Bush choad-slurper! WTF? We spoke up, we were right...but it was only us, so we didn't count.

2. I know what you mean. There's a related note that always bugs me.

As the Bush Imperial ship slips beneath the waves, who do we hear from...? The former neocons and hawks. We get to listen to them pontificate endlessly on why the scheme is failing, and what we should do in reponse. We get to hear neocons like Fukuyama and Bill Kristol endlessly speculate about why their obviously moronic "plans" have fallen apart, while the people who had enough basic intelligence and forsight to describe the problems BEFORE THEY HAPPENED continue to be ignored.

3. Except there WERE generals speaking against Bush's strategy and

who threw their support to Kerry back in 2003 and 2004. Tweety CHOSE TO IGNORE THEM and downplayed their import, while giving Tommy Franks and Bush loyalists all the airtime they wanted to LIE repeatedly, especially after Kerry called Bush on Tora Bora during the debates.

4. He was great with Holbrooke. He actually let him talk.

And Holbrooke is a smart guy. Holbrooke said the Generals would have to step down before they could speak against Rumsfeld.

5. Funny how it's OK to make politically ideological remarks while in uniform

... if they're the 'correct' remarks.

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Marine Gen. Peter Pace, was quick to defend Rumsfeld at a Department of Defense news briefing. When a reporter asked Rumsfeld if, in a month when several generals had called for his head, he wasn't hurting the war effort by hanging on to his job, Pace responded before Rumsfeld could: "As far as Peter Pace is concerned, this country is exceptionally well served by <Rumsfeld>. Nobody -- nobody -- works harder than he does to take care of the PFCs and lance corporals and lieutenants and captains."

WHahuhh???

Let that be a lesson to y'all! It's FORBIDDEN to make political statements when in uniform .... unless those statements are approved by the Republican Party!

6. Geeesh! I remember Matthews interviewing Gen. Clark before the war

He is a general ya know. And I guess Holbrooke can't remember that either.

Besides, Zinni and Clark testified that this war was a bad idea...in 2002.
