This season one of the Soprano characters is a Captain in Tony Soprano's crime family. The dude's a crook and a killer---and he's Gay.

Well--- he was outed in last nights show and he fled to New Hampshire to hide.

Somebody on DU this morning hoped that Vito (the characters name) would live happily ever after in New Hampshire running an Antique shop. LOL

8. Can you believe how GOOD
this second season is?

Did I see Hugh Laurie on the cover of Newsweek today at the market? I went by fast, but, I swear, there he was.

That show makes me think there's hope for American intelligence.

Oh, who am I kidding ................

3. You can't feel sorry for that character on any level...
One of the things I learned as an English major is the concept of a "tragic flaw"...someone who's basically good on a number of levels, maybe even noble, but they have this one...little...problem...

It could be excessive pride, envy, greed, just something that has "train wreck" written all over it.

But Vito...I don't really understand what they're trying to do with that character, because he doesn't seem to have a single redeeming characteristic.

5. He's annoying and creepy
but everyone, including his wife, says what a great father he is. So he has one redeeming quality: he's a good family man.

4. I can feel bad for him having to hide who he really is
but he's still a killer and a crook.

9. He's a ruthless killer
a thug and a conspirator. He's also abusive.

But yeah, sometimes you do feel sorry for him. That's the beauty of the show.

12. Hee hee - Well....
he did look rather wistful in that antique shop. Perhaps he will settle down with the fellow who served him in the little diner down the street.

13. It looks like the mob discriminates against gays too
Here he is a great hit man--a totally cold, calculating killer, and they will want to off him now because he's gay.
