Larisa Interview Part 3: Bad Leaks and Good Leaks
This is the third installment of my interview with Larisa Alexandrovna, Managing Editor of Raw Story.

In this installment, Bad Leaks and Good Leaks, we discuss:
1. Iran: Energy, Drugs & MEK
2. Intel Trafficking: Distinguishing between Strategic, Military, Industrial & Political leaks
3. How to corrupt a Congressman, or the entire Pentagon.
4. Promoting Good Leaks: How to support whistleblowers

--------------------
Luke Ryland: Let's get back to Iran - why is Iran the Big Prize?

Larisa Alexandrovna: Iran has always been the big prize. I think the Golden Crescent of Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, in general has been the Big Prize for various reasons - business interests, geopolitical reasons, etc. There are all sorts of reasons why it's been the crown jewel. There is not one single group, for example the Neoconservatives, who are guiding this ship if you will. There are factions who may have different agendas and ideologies, but they have together because they have the same goals.

There are, for example, business interests - both legal and illegal. The energy market, for example, wants the oil (legal) and the drug market, for example, wants the routes and supply of the Golden Crescent region (illegal).

9. Great interview, Lukery and welcome to DU ~ I wonder if all the whistle-
blowers were to organize and speak out together, as well as huge numbers of people supporting them, what could they do about it? They can't go after everyone. I agree with Larissa that they should know they have support. This story needs way more exposure in order to get that support, imo.

Thanks for the transcripts, looking forward to the next installment :-)

11. Lukery, i Love your blog
and I'd love for you you to post more here at DU if you feel so inclined.

I seem to remember that you waded in once or twice and were not so enamored of the experience.
I hope you'll reconsider, especially when a Plame thread pops up.

PS I hope everyone realizes that Sibel Edmonds herself has this to say of Luke:
..
Your Blog is the best one out there connecting the dots in my case; thank you for all your hard work.

ok now i'm  from this shameless plugging, but there it is.

12. thnx yodermon
yuo are correct - i don't normally hang out here - but i think i'm slowly understanding the terrain..

i did have one weird experience over here when someone was discussing some of my work about 911 blueprints and put in a link to scott's interview with sibel at antiwardotcom and the whole thread was pulled because of that link - and i thought that was really odd.

i'll try to drop in for a coffee more regularly :-)

14. I remember that thread
and I too thought it was odd to pull it.. but like you say the terrain can be interesting around here especially wrt 9/11. I had a post of mine pulled once from the 9/11 forum, and all it consisted of was a series of pictures of the OK City bombing crater.

I think some 'round here are very touchy about antiwar.com bcz it is sometimes seen as crypto-antisemitic (esp. postings by Justin Raimondo) -- my personal opinion is that DU doth protest too much in this case.

At any rate to lure you some more, here is the journal of H2O Man, whose Plame analyses are top notch

thanx again
oh, and :donut:
