16. the only gas station I know not connected to the bush crime
cartel is "Citgo". Rarely would I fill up at EXXON or the other gasoline giants. I support Hugo Chavez and the hell with that "POS POTUS"

btw, my local AAMCO is 2.95 gal self serve. how about your neighborhood?

8. I see the comments about Citgo
Edited on Mon Apr-17-06 08:22 PM by twominuteshate
and I get that there's a connection between Citgo and Venezuela. Does anyone have a breakdown of where each company gets its oil? I buy my gas from either Valero or QuikTrip, because both are nearby, but also because I don't have any interest in supporting ExxonMobil (my senator, Kay Bailey Hutchison's one true constituent).

Edited - typo

9. Hey, I haven't purchased Exxon Mobile products in years and we
own (jsut under 200 shares) some XOM stock. (Don't beat me; it was an inheritance. Since we've had the stock for over 35 years, we couldn't afford to sell it because of the capital gains tax...)

What I want to know is, why, when XOM is bulldozing in the obscene profits, the dividends paid to the share holders isn't bigger.

Oh, that's right. I all goes to the CEOs and the BOD members. After all, if a company is going to pay the out going CEO a salary of over $200 million and then hand him a $98 million retirement payment.

11. I overheard the ladies in the dentists office talk about the exxon boycott
If it's being talked about there -- and other ordinary places around the country and not just the internet -- it might actually have legs.

17. I've noticed that too, every time someone brings it
up "it won't work". I think it would if it would go nationwide. I always see buy Citgo, well there are very few Citgo stations. To me it would be much more effective to boycott Exxon, it's easy to find an alternative to them. If we could cut the profits at Exxon they will lower their prices and all others will be forced to do the same. One thing I wonder how many other brand names Exxon sells gas under?
