Anybody know about this? Unfortunately I only heard the sentence fragment above. I tried a couple of search engines and various boolean operations using words like, "spam, spammer, legislation, bill" etc. but found nothing.

2. It's the only reason I can think of where the death penalty is appropriate
OMG - dozens of spam email messages per day, spam posts on my hobby sites, phone rings nonstops from 9AM to 9 PM. Is there no rest for the weary?

I've got most of it blocked out, but a few have gotten in recently. Time to update the server. ;)

4. No death penalty for spammers.
Reserve the ultimate penalty for the phishers.

I get a dozen phishing attempts a week, or more. And that's just the ones that get through SpamAssassin, Vorpul's Razor, Pyzor, and black list on my e-mail server. I pity the poor fools who don't have all that technology.

11. I agree.
I'd advocate punishing them with big fines ($10,000+). Personally I think big fines would hurt worse than a couple years in prison.

13. They have to personally apologize
To every person that their spam went to. Knock on the door, sorry madam/sir, I'm responsible for 3,000 of the spams that have clogged your email the last 2 years.

How many doors do you think a spammer would make it to? Wouldn't you like the opportunity to just throttle one of these idjits!!

16. Spammers don't bother me as much as these
sites that inject trojans into your system... I can delete scam mail, trojans, however are a different story...

18. If we were going to punish people
then I'd go after the fuckers who put spyware, malware, trojans, and viruses, above the spammers, I must admit though I DON'T LIKE SPAM.
