Why all the angst in the media about Barry Bonds?

I don't get it. McGuire and other obviously did the same sort of cheating. Why aren't they being taken to task by the media?

Secondly, I don't get why all the furor over a freaking game most of us quit playing when we became young adults.

I believe it's because Bonds always had a lot of attitude and especially when interacting with the press. He's been pretty hard to love from day 1.

2. It is all about the attitude

Shortcuts, domineering, rude behavior, cheating and manipulating to win is perfectly acceptable among many in our society. Even advertising has embraced and recognized it as a tool to sell stuff. Remember the Hummer commercial where the kids have a box car race and the Hummer leaves the track to win? Bonds - much like the Hummer - is representative of this attitude in popular culture.

...and 99 percent of Americans they talk to are all over the TV, radio, and talk shows screaming about how "he must be punished."

Bush lied us into an illegal war in which countless people are killed and the damage to not only the ME, but our reputation around the globe will run into multiple generations to fix, and half the fucking country could give a shit.
