Tampa Trib just invited me to their "Letter of the Day" Luncheon

Last August, One of my letters was published as "Letter of the Day". I think it was the one about Pat Robertson being God's Consigliere, for putting out a contract on Hugo Chavez. I guess they'll pick the "Letter of the Year" during the lunch and speeches.

It's funny. We've spent the last 2 days yelling at them on the phone for screwing up the facts, and reporting inaccuracies in our press releases.

One reason I joined DU was to my exasperation with the Trib's editorials and some of the wingnut letters. It's nice that your letter was published and I hope it happens again and again.

I've had at least a dozen published in the Chicago Sun-Times and Tribune, and no Letter of the Year invitations for me. :banghead:

If memory serves me right, the Tampa Tribune is a pretty crappy paper. (Maybe it's changed, haven't lived in Tampa for almost 13 years.)

But I send the same letters to both the Trib and St. Pete Times, and I get published more often in the Trib. It used to be just the opposite.
