The Generals = Vote of No Confidence in Shrubco and their War.
That's really what the issue boils down to, especially since these were generals who served under shrubco, in this war.

The 'target' of their criticism is Rumsfeld because he can be fired. Of course the real targets are Bush and Cheney who have ultimate responsibility for the war, but there is no mechanism for their removal save resignation, impeachment, or the torch wielding mob.

This is the way the issue ought to be framed in conversation and correspondence. Of these several generals who have spoken out and exposed themselves to the inevitable wrathful swiftboating of Rove and his minions, how many do generals who have NOT spoken out do you think they represent?

1. The lady on Blitzer's show ref. 4 or 5 military blogs, all saying Rummy
is doing just fine. Do you know if they were only "selected" sites" and are there other military blogs who agree with the 6 Generals? It sounded very suspicious to me.

2. It doesn't matter about whatever blogs. These are general officers
who have been actively involved in RUNNING this war who are coming out against its poor, misguided, leadership.

3. I'm well aware of that, I was just curious if any others were
of the same opinion. I'm tired of hearing the Pubs say these Generals are just doing this for political reasons, and I don't believe they are!

4. In a sense, they ARE doing it for political reasons. To try and get rid
of the politicians running the country into the ground.

Rumsfeld Shouldn't be Fired, He Should be Indicted
by Matthew Rothschild

“Secretary Rumsfeld has publicly admitted that . . . he ordered an Iraqi national held in Camp Cropper, a high security detention center in Iraq, to be kept off the prison’s rolls and not presented to the International Committee of the Red Cross,” the report noted. The Geneva Conventions require countries to grant the Red Cross access to all detainees. “

The Constitution of the USA. Recently it has been found out that even more detainees were "ghost detainees". The fact that Rumsfeld has not been charged speaks volumes. If Congress wishes to garner any respect they should move forward with Rep. Rangle's Impeachment Declaration of Rumsfeld.

The US, Govt., Congress, and the Justice Dept no longer abide by the Geneva Convention or the Constitution of the USA.

6. How does this torch-wielding mob thing work?
Does it require a simple majority? Or does it have to go through a committee first, then to a vote?

Either way, I'm in.
