McCain/Brownback or something like that
The wingers don't like McCain, but they'd put up with him to get a fire-breathing Fundie
in the Oval Office after McCain passes on.

4. Tricky one
Most of those candidates are outsiders - but McCain still is a good shot - in part because he's not Bush - they might decide it's in their best interest to signal a change.

5. Last night Jay Leno advertised that John McCain, perhaps
the future President of the United States, would be a guest.

I raised my eyebrows. Perhaps Limbaugh didn't get the message.

7. What I can't figure out is why
limpballs and the rest of his ilk hate McCain so much. He's had his mouth firmly planted on Bush's ass for over a year now, and is getting even chummier with them. It makes no sense to me. And they would finally have a GOP candidate who's actually a genuine, bona fide war veteran and hero, unlike most of their chickenhawk candidates.

10. They'll come around soon enough
McCain is too busy kissing Falwell and company's ass right now, he's still got a couple of years to lip-lock with Limbaugh and crew.

17. He's not dumb enough for them.
Edited on Tue Apr-18-06 09:44 PM by Cleita
I'm slowly coming to the realization that the real powers behind the White House recognize that the President has a lot of power and they need that power to get the agendas they want. Since none of them probably could run for President without a lot of skeletons coming out of their closets, or because they have no charisma, they pick dumb assess that they can cuckold into doing their agendas even leading them to believe it's their idea.

It started with Reagan, and then Bush I, Dan Quayle, who fortunately wasn't elected, and now Bush II who is a sociopath on top of it. There is a reason Jeb Bush was passed over, too smart for their liking. But I think they are realizing that Bush II is getting to be a handful. The next guy to run for the GOP is going to be another dumbass but without the psycho baggage and that isn't McCain. I believe this is why they are even thinking of Arnold even though they are going to have to change the Constitution to do it.

8. If Falwell hates Rudy, I'm hoping he wins it...
Anybody that Falwell dislikes can't be all that bad of a guy.

But I would imagine McCain will win, especially now that he's abandoning his morals and values and whoring himself out to whatever groups he needs to win the primary. Jon Stewart pointed this out, and all McCain could do was chuckle and and agree. It's been a pretty shameful display.

14. Probably a real cat fight...
anything can happened, it's just too far off to get too carried away. But, McCain for sure will contend, although I agree the right-wing wackos can't stand him and will go overboard to stop him. Suspect the right-wingers will try to promote Allen.

16. Giuliani still does fairly well in national polls and Falwell has
blessed John McCain. I wouldn't count out either of those two just yet. I think they both have uphill climbs, but it's too early to write them off as possible contenders.

Haley Barbour will be the Republican nominee in 2008.
