Interesting point I heard today.... Congress dudn't want to increase
the minimum wage.... and just about every year, they vote themselves another raise. Hypocrites.

2. The minimum wage has become a disgraceful joke.
In the 1970s, it was just about enough to buy gas for your car and some clothes, if you lived with your parents, maybe. Or a really crummy apartment if you could take the bus to work.

But you could eat at least in either case.

Now it's not enough to even pay for day care if you have a kid. So getting off welfare and getting a job becomes not even a zero-sum game, but a backward step for poor women.

It's a fucking disgrace.
