Rumsfeld Shouldn't be Fired, He Should be Indicted
It’s not Donald Rumsfeld’s colossal arrogance or his glaring misjudgments we should be focusing on. It’s his potential crimes.

The mainstream media in the U.S. is giving enormous attention to the retired generals who are demanding Donald Rumsfeld’s resignation because of his autocratic style and his bungling in Iraq.

But the mainstream media is barely discussing Rumsfeld’s alleged culpability in the abusive treatment of detainees, up to and including torture.

“The question at this point is not whether Secretary Rumsfeld should resign, it’s whether he should be indicted,” says Joanne Mariner of Human Rights Watch, who directs its terrorism and counterterrorism program.

And let's remember this is the SAME guy who delegated the signing of his name to letters to families of soldiers killed in Iraq, because it was TOO MUCH for him to handle (and at the time he said that, casualties were still low).

Apparently, potential writer's cramp is considered to be 'torture' when it comes to his own personal comfort.

ALL of these people need to be brought to justice for crimes against humanity.

3. Really, Joanne. Is it even a question?
We know he should be indicted. Now, can we get started on collecting the evidence and bringing the charges?

CAN a cabinet officer be indicted? Who does it?

4. Hear! Hear!
I posted this too, before I saw your post, Aggenda21. But it's worth posting all over the place. Of course rightwingnuts only bother with HRW when it suits their masters' agenda. Cherry-picking is a way of life for the MFing rightwingnuts.
