White House dumping McClellan was a smart move...
McClellan's deceptions and lies were only second to Bush himself and just seeing Scottie increased the hatred for Bush.

The White House Press Corps. should train the McClellan replacement immediately and double check that NO Gannon's/Guckerts come along with this new press secretary!

1. I felt bad for Scottie
he got attacked by the press for speaking the * line and I'm sure he got attacked by Rove et al for not selling the line more effectively.

However, if he wasn't happy collecting his paycheck he should have resigned a long time ago.

5. feel bad for him? WHY--the man wasn't forced to be a lying sack of shit
he chose to do it, so there is nothing for you to feel bad about. if the man ever had a soul, he sold it to be part of the action of this lying, corrupt, power-mad bunch of thugs, murderers, thieves and utterly insane ones.

3. Yeah, but it's not like they can hire a NON-liar.
Whoever they find will be someone who's willing to repeat the talking points and lies in the face of the world. In other words, a total creep.

6. I reject the notion he was fired.
He resigned to

a) spend more time with his family
b) pursue other professional interests (lobbying $$$)
c) any combination thereof

he did a heckova job and we- i mean THEY'RE surely sorry to lose him.

Next question?

7. They weren't his lies, they were Bush's
McClellan only repeated what he was told to say.

I don't have sympathy for him, he knew what he was doing. But to not hold Bush, Cheney, et al responsible for the lies repeated to the public daily by McClellan would be letting them off the hook.

Blame the bosses, not the messenger.
