White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan announced his resignation this morning and President's Bush's longtime adviser Karl Rove is scaling back his responsibilities.

It was the third major change at the White House in the past few weeks and perhaps the most visible to the public, as McClellan is the most televised face of the administration through his often-combative daily briefings.

3. I will not be satisfied...
...until ALL OF THEM are GONE!!!

Some shuffling of the cronies ain't gonna do it Bush. Funny, the man who would not admit to a mistake, and I hesitate to call him a man, more like a little boy, is now trying to dump EVERYONE overboard (except the PNAC crew like Cheney and Rummy) in an attempt to make it look like he's responsive. Here's a clue Bush, RESIGN!

5. So why isn't the media all over this?????
CNN, MSNBC, CNN Headline News.......

NONE of them are even hinting that something this big has happened. When it was the Big Dog's house, it was plastered all over the place.

7. The "Scaling back"...
Is a lot more telling than that round mound of the less-than profound leaving.

Pay attention to the policy portfolio being pulled from Rove. There is the real story. Scotty is the camoflage.

I don't envy anyone taking over his job.

I hated Ari Fleischer, but at least you could tell he was full of shit, and he you knew he knew was full of shit. But Scotty... he was a pretentious ass.

Edited on Wed Apr-19-06 09:38 AM by Jackpine Radical
I get this weird thought about everybody deciding to have a little fun with Puffy. They blindfold him, put him on board along with Rumsfeld, Rove & 2 large sandbags. They take off. Bush asks Rummy if he wants to resign. Rummy says "Hell no." Bush says, "Pitch him," and they throw out a sandbag. The chopper bobs upward with the loss of weight. Then Bush says to Rove, "OK, Karl. This Plame thing is getting a little too hot. You're next." The second sandbag goes out & the helo bobs upward again. Puffy starts screaming & begging to be allowed to resign. Bush says, "Jeez, it smells like shit in here. Take us down."

17. Hmmm. I'm thinking of a replacement
for Scotty. Maybe Katherine Harris could staunch the hemorrhage of her personal stash of millions on her failed campaign and take up a very high profile job which will highlight her need for attention while showcasing her impressive plastic surgeries and unique makeup application.
(and, yes, I'm being particularly "snotty" in homage to Snotty Scotty.)

18. I just saw the tape of Scott with * in front of the helicopter -
Poor Scott was all choked up, he did not go voluntarily!
* has to be shaking in his boots to be making any changes with Rove.

WASHINGTON - A Bush administration shake-up continued Wednesday, with White House press secretary Scott McClellan announcing his resignation and a source saying that adviser Karl Rove would shed some duties.

Appearing with Bush on the White House South Lawn just before the president boarded a helicopter at the start of a trip to Alabama, McClellan, who has parried especially fiercely with reporters on Iraq and on intelligence issues, told Bush: “I have given it my all sir and I have given you my all sir, and I will continue to do so as we transition to a new press secretary.” ...

New Rove duties
Also, a senior administration official revealed another move in the ongoing shake-up of Bush’s staff, saying Rove, the president's longtime confidant and adviser, is giving up oversight of policy development to focus more on politics with the approach of the fall midterm elections.

The source told NBC that the shift was “an acknowledgement of the tough political climate.”
