I know this isn't news to a lot of you however I've just come to a personal realization and wanted to share it to see if we have a trend here...

Four years ago my wife and I were living comfortably, both of us having been through the Reagan, Bush 1 years surviving from one financial disaster after another. I had finally secured a decent job, once Clinton was in office, my wife was making good money at her job of 19 years, and we, both being in our 50s, were looking forward to building something we could retire on before long.

Then Bush is elected, my wifes job is exported to Japan. My wife, now in her fifties, having a disability with her speech caused by an illness she had while formerly employed, is now unemployed, and as it seems , unemployable as a customer service rep, considering her disability.
She had been unable to get a job although she interviewed for many positions that she was well qualified for. Consequently she was forced to take a job at just above minimum wage due to her unemployment running out and our having exhausted her meager severance pay and our 401K.

Now we are in a position where our utilities have tripled, our gas bill going to and from work has doubled and our salaries have decreased. In this case my wife and I have lost over $600. dollars a month from our take home pay. Not to mention that I have now had to sign my wife and I up on a far inferior health plan than we had before since my wife was carrying our insurance due to the fact that mine, well to put it mildly 'really sucks'! Now we have additional hospital bills along with everything else and we are sinking fast!...

I didn't put this here for sympathy. I just know that if I'm in this shape then a lot of other people are to, and that we have got to do something soon or we're in for the ride of our lives...into the cellar!...

1. They want the US to be a third world country.

The objective is to reduce the middle class to the bottom and have a nation of slave labor and poverty - the middle class is their enemy because we have too much power. Every policy decision made by this adminstration is designed to take away what we have and put it in the pockets of the privileged few. The destruction of this nation makes no difference to them. All their money is out of this country anyway.

What's happening to you is happening all over the place.

They are ruining our economy and keeping all the money for themselves. They don't care what happens to the rest of us -- they'll have enough for themselves. In fact, they'll have it all.

The only 2 things that have not gone up in the last 5 years is my electric, because I switched to CF bulbs, and my pay, because I work for wealthy ReTHUGs

My present salary, "Adjusted for inflation", is actually closer to what my starting pay was in the last job before this one. Wow.
