Sacramento police have released a composite drawing of one of the two men believed responsible for beating a man to death after stealing his portable DVD player on April 7.

Kent Matthew Guetling, 48, died from injuries suffered hours before during a severe beating at the hands of two robbers.

Sgt. Terrell Marshall said Guetling was sitting at a picnic table in Reichmuth Park on Gloria Dr. with two other men watching a portable DVD player. The group was approached by the two suspects, who witnesses said grabbed the DVD player and ran toward 43rd Avenue. Guetling and another victim chased and caught up with the suspects on Holstein Way.

Guetling asked for the DVD player back and was beaten by the suspects. The second victim was also attacked, suffering minor injuries.

3. Just more of the behavioral sink effect

Not to excuse these heinous crimes, but these are just more examples of what America is turning into, a behavioral sink.

A behavorial sink is where you put mice, or people under enormous amounts of stress, and then watch what strange behaviors pop up. This used to be confined mostly to urban areas, where people are packed on top of each other, but now this has spread throughout the country. Americans are under an ever increasing amount of stress, rising prices, lowered wages, disappearing jobs, wars, death, etc. etc. ad nauseum. Most people can bear up under a lot of stress, but everybody has their breaking point. Some turn to drink/drugs, others to odd obseccions, and some turn to crime, both violent and non-violent. This is what we're seeing in this country today, the collective nervous break down of an entire population.

This sort of thing is only going to become more common.

6. What about the woman who was stabbed to death at the gas station

in Roseville? How bizarre was that?

"A Roseville police spokesman said after the assault, Minchak went into the market and attempted to pay for gas with money he allegedly took from Texiera's purse. There was a confrontation of some sort in the store and Minchak allegedly shattered a window with a hammer."

They also arrested two juveniles who beat the poor 90 year old woman to death. Sickening.
