I just had the most hard core Freeper in my office say to me..
"Come November you are going to see a huge change; it's way past time for a change." And I cannot tell you guys how conservative this man is.

If he is saying this, there are many many others that are thinking the same thing. I'm feeling very hopeful.

7. It'd be just as well if that's what he meant... that would mean
that they, the fundies, freepers, etc. have accepted the backlash against them as inevitable and will stay home and just "play itself out."

2. Yeah, but,
what kind of change did he mean?

Righter-wing than now?

I mean, he's a FREEPER, for god's sake. You have to nail these people down.

3. LOL...sorry, I should have been more specific..

He was definately talking about the Repukes losing the majority. My bad. His parting crack was, "We'll see after all your talk if your side does any better." I of course had to add "I'm not quite sure just how we could do any worse."

:)

4. Could mean more conservative R presidential candidate.

Which would be good to us. Once again, and I know our more extreme DUers hate this, but its time to reclaim the center where most Americans are.

5. A Change of What Kind?
Seems obvious, but depending on the freeper, he might be perfectly capable of thinking of Bush as a liberal and that America is about to turn towards a more "conservative" government.

10. I know someone who thought * was too liberal
She wrote-in James Dobson for president on her 2004 ballot. She's an ex-friend who's gone round the religious bend.

13. This is
my take on it, too.

But, I also believe that most of them will hold there noses and vote for Repukes anyway to hold off the "horror" of a Democratic Congress. Repukes aren't nearly so nice about the ideological purity of their candidates as Dems tend to be.

8. I've heard similar spins from Cons
Basically, Republicans need a real kick in the pants to straighten themselves out. (Of course, often the speaker doesn't think they are far right enough)

9. He could very well wish things would go further to the right...
but seems resigned that the Dems will win big in Nov. I guess that was my point.

11. So let me get this straight.
He's conservative? And you think he's going to vote Dem?

Best you can possibly hope for is that he doesn't vote at all.

12. I've been hearing that too but the problem is still.............
.....Diebold and those "problem plagued" voting machines that have no verification abilities. The neocons/fundies know their in some political hot water but with a few key stokes they can still hang on to power.:banghead:

15. Cripes, they're probably going to write-in Pat Robertson or Jerry Foulwell
and every other Dobson-type lunatic they can find and Diebold the extra votes to carry them in.

Nah, it's probably good news.

16. If Dems don't take back the Senate, something is seriously afoot
Either massive, massive theft, or Bob Shrum snuck in to running the Dems Senate campaign.

My boss said he read a story where sadamm had weapons of mass destruction that he would cart it around in trucks everytime the UN inspectors came and he can't believe the media doesn't cover it.

To give him some credit though. He was complaining the other day that today's CEO's were getting way overpaid.

19. We may just yet see the civil war that the righties almost started
in November/December 2000 . . . if the Dems regain control of even just one - House or Senate . . .

We would likely still be in the midst of the civil war right now had Sandy voted in favor of Gore . . . she might not have been alive to see today . . . some NRA nut might have offed her . . .
