We're not there yet - not by a very long shot - but today was a very good start. I'm starting to see some very nice parallels.

Oh, and before I forget - Dick, meet Spiro...

1. Yes, I remember it well
But this one looks much more cosmetic than Tricky Dick's. I think Team Bush figures that the people want blood, and these painless personnel changes will give it to them. But the people are not leaving because the pResident is cleaning house -- they are leaving because it is expedient to do so.

Of course, I could be wrong. But Washington is not awash in the tears of the remorseful.

2. I was just gonna say...we're not there yet!
These changes are lightweight window dressing. Nothing of substance is really happening, it's all just to try to whip up some positive spin for BushCo.

3. I can't buy the "window dressing" re: Rove
It is true that this move is nothing but spin, and it is true that Karl will still be Karl (lest * fall on his ignorant ass to an even more embarassing degree), but something is going on with Rove. They wouldn't "sacrifice" such an important figure unless they needed him to be below Cabinet level when he gets charged.

No, I'm seeing the start of something good here. They are building a firewall.

6. I agree with you on that.
"But he isn't a part of the Cabinet!!!" I can hear it now.

We will see how quickly people forget old KKKarl was in the cabinet. There are a LOT of us who have seen this before.

I'm liking this. :hi:

4. When he fires Fitz, that will be SNM
He's coming to get you, Georgie-Porgie. You're going to be out on the South Lawn, boarding that final helicopter before you know it, you arrogant, incompetent prick.

5. Ah, that makes me smile
Especially the "boarding the helicopter" part.

Although the "arrogant incompetent prick" part ain't bad either. :)
