Dean says Rove's demotion is not enough.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/usnw/20060419/pl_usnw/dean_on_karl_rove_s_demotion130_xml

WASHINGTON, April 19 /U.S. Newswire/ -- "This morning, Deputy White House Chief of Staff Karl Rove was demoted and forced to give up "oversight of policy development" in the White House. Another close Bush confidante, former Bolten deputy Joel Kaplan, will take over Rove's policy portfolio. (Associated Press, 4/19/06) This news comes on the heels of White House proclamations of major staff reshuffling that have led to new faces in the West Wing, but no changes to the President's failed policies, according to the Democratic National Committee.

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean issued the following statement:

"After having his hand in nearly every bad Bush policy decision and nearly every scandal that has consumed the Bush White House, it is not surprising that Karl Rove was demoted this morning. But, a demotion is not enough. From the collapse of the President's scheme to privatize social security to Rove's involvement in the outing of a covert CIA agent's identity while he still holds a security clearance, the President has abundant reason to fire Karl Rove.

"The Bush White House is merely engaging in window dressing. President Bush doesn't seem to understand that you can't just change the window dressing, you have to make changes in the Bush Administration's policies which have undermined America's security -- from the economy to health care, our families and the war in Iraq."

8. It's important we call it a "demotion", even if they don't call it that.
War of words and all that.

Even if we suspect it is not so at all...we need to say that he is being distanced from.

11. Say it on TV. I'm tired of hearing about "issued a statement"
What in the world does "issued" mean?

How about SAYING IT- ON TV. Instead of "issued"- what ever that means.

Everyone gets all excited whenever the DNC "issues" or "releases" text on the internet for donors to see.

I only get excited when Dean is ON TV making "hot" comments that will ring in the ears of red staters & swingvoters.

Great job Dean, but SAY IT ON TV. Loud & often.

I'm sure he will, but I like to make the point that "issued" and "released" does not mean that swing voters will ever hear about it.

Go on TV and call the bastard a "lying criminal" and make him deny it while you are at it. That is language that the average Joe gets.

14. He does a better job than most, but that is not my point.
I'm not aiming this at just Dean-

We get all excited when ever we see a "release" or an "issued statement"- they mean NOTHING until there is video and audio of it being SAID.

"Releases" only get read by internet people who already support Democrats- I really hope all Democrats start knowing this.

If he were to call the bastard a "lying criminal"- I gurantee there would be plenty of Rove related video & audio for days.

I'm sure Dean will go on TV and repeat this "release"- but I wont stop making this point- the "release" means nothing- until it is said ON TV, it is just text on the interent that only donors see.

13. Hardly a "demotion" Its so Rove can spend all his time smearing sabotaging
Edited on Wed Apr-19-06 03:43 PM by LaPera
lying, distorting & cheating, (via electronic voting machines), as well as to manipulate & guide the media (MSM) full-time! Its about fucking over Democratic candidates and their campaigns for Congress, so to keep himself and BushCo from going to jail...Rove's job is now full time lying for republicans so the republicans can keep control of Congress!!

Maintaining a Republican majority in congress will mean no jail time for anyone in BushCo and a continuation of the same corporate fascist agenda... business as usual!

15. Which Democrat is on TV using those hot phrases (smearing sabotaging...)
(...lying, distorting & cheating)

Before you answer, what hot phrases would Republicans(the guys who win their elections) be saying on TV if this were Clinton's, Gore's or Kerry's man?

16. Smear tactics only work swimmingly when people have free time
to engage in those sorts of whisper campaigns. When people are HURTING financially, they are more concerned with caring for their family, not feeding a gossip mill.

19. Except the economy is going so strong and growing by leaps & bounds...
Edited on Wed Apr-19-06 03:42 PM by LaPera
Which of course is bullshit (12.6%) unemployment, if it were being counted correctly as it used to be) people with no health insurance or minimal that pays for nothing, gas prices & inflation, interest rates going up...with a deficit too large to keep up with, and ballooning everyday.

The media (Limbaugh especially believes) and BushCo believes if they keep pounding it down the people throats that the economy is doing so fucking well...people will believe it...they really feel most people are that stupid and are just sheep... If their owned and paid for media (MSM) keeps saying what a "great economy" we have, that will be enough to make it true in most people's mind...

And perhaps the person who is truly hurting with no job, and/or no insurance, etc. will think maybe it's just me and all is going well...and its only amount of time...

further investigated. I just saw it here, will check for the link.

We must call it a demotion, so they will have to be pushed to defend it. Everyone really knows it is a demotion but they are too afraid of him to say so.

We have to get the criminals out of positions of power and control before that happens, though.
