FITZ Returns: "The Federal Grand Jury Began Meeting AGAIN This Morning!"
Walking the White House plank
White House press secretary, Scott McClellan, departs as the investigation into Karl Rove enters into a serious new phase.
April 19, 2006 by Sidney Blumenthal:

White House press secretary, Scott McClellan, departs as the investigation into Karl Rove enters into a serious new phase.

Karl Rove is a subject of Fitzgerald's investigation - this is the headline buried in Libby's filing.

In white-collar criminal investigations, individuals who fall under the gaze of a prosecutor fit into one of three categories: witness, subject or target. Rove's attorney has suggested that Rove is simply a witness. But that is untrue. He is a subject. A subject is someone the prosecutor believes may have committed a crime and is under investigation. If the prosecutor decides he has accumulated sufficient evidence to prove guilt, he will change the designation of that person from subject to target and then indict him or her.

Having successfully completed his most extensive investigation and prosecution, ending with the conviction of former Governor Ryan, Patrick Fitzgerald returns to the unresolved case before him. The federal grand jury considering his evidence began meeting again this morning. Karl Rove remains a subject--for now.

35. Are you kidding? Do you think bush will allow that to happen to his prized
MVP? WHATEVER job description kkkarl has, he has NOT fallen out of favor with the wee wannabe dictator. And as such, I'd suspect he'd enjoy ALL the privileges and perks he's had so far, uninterrupted. I suspect they're just moving him around a little, and changing his office designation to make you THINK he's being demoted. They're probably looking at this as really great, strategically, because it moves kkkarl off the radar scope a little, so he can purportedly go about his fishy business with fewer people trying to look over his shoulder. But he's too valuable to bush. WAY too valuable. kkkarl will NEVER be demoted as long as bush draws breath. In fact, I'd go so far as to say kkkarl is the ONLY individual who enjoys return loyalty from bush. Seems to me bush prizes the loyalty thing - going strictly in one direction - toward himself. It's not often returned. We've seen, and we'll see in the future, more examples of people being flitched off and sacrificed to save junior or help him save face. kkkarl's an entirely different animal. bush won't let him go down.

51. Maybe they're avoiding the "frog-march"
Recall how Libby suddenly "hurt his ankle" and had to use crutches to avoid being photographed in handcuffs? I anticipate they'll be moving KKKarl's office to Cheney's undisclosed location so the press can't get a photo of him doing the perp walk at the WH.

Its all appearances. Rove will still be doing the same thing for Bushco as he did before.

41. Now THAT is a real possibility

But, it won't be enough to appease the outcry for his COMPLETE resignation, if they are planning this little manuver to try and keep him in the White House.

Oh, man. I can't WAIT for the poop to hit the fan!

47. It's way overdue in my book
why wasn't he indicted the same time as Scooter Libby, My best guess is that his trial will start
on November 3, 2008. After, George Bush has declared that the states of florida, california
and texas are persoanl fiefs of the Bush family and Wyoming has been turned into a estate
for Cheney.

30. Oh, that it were true......
Rove deserves nothing better than intense physical pain for the rest of his life for the way he's conducted his life. His dirty tricks, vote stealing and foisting of George Bush upon this nation merit him endless, excruciating, physical pain. Does that seem a trifle harsh? Oh well......

6. Rove is a subject not the only subject.
Rove's attorney has been playing this like Rove is the only one who can untangle himself. What isn't being said is how many others have given Fitzgerald more information that contradicts Rove. And who has a cut a deal...

Ooh, this shall be a great summer, truly!:woohoo:
