Russia to be neutral in possible Iran-US armed conflict
http://www.itar-tass.com/eng/level2.html?NewsID=6683824&PageNum=0

MOSCOW, April 19 (Itar-Tass) - Russia will maintain neutrality in a possible armed conflict between Iran and the United States, Russian army chief of staff Yuri Baluyevsky stated on Wednesday, as he was answering Itar-Tass questions.

"Unequivocally, and I'm saying it as chief of the General Staff, Russia will not be offering the use of its armed forces on this or that side," Gen Baluyevsky said.

3. Maybe, But who will be left when the US military is weakened
China and Russia

Besides, they only said that their military will not take sides, they didn't say anything about the sale of arms and military equipment.

4. Bush
Well, supposedly, we've promised to lay off China should they wish to attack Taiwan, and of course Bush gave India the wink on its nuclear expansion.

2. I don't believe it...I think Russia is just posturing...if their oil
flow from Iran is disrupted in a major way...they will pick sides and it won't be the US side...

11. I think so too.
I do not believe they will just stand on to one side as the US attacks AGAIN. Another oil-rich country. They had contracts with Saddam in Iraq, and all those got flushed when the US invaded.

They have contracts with the Iranian government which has cost that country a lot of money. They won't be neutral this time around.

They've already sold a lot of missiles to Iran, plus a lot of other equipment. At the very least, they will be in the background, assisting them.

12. If you think back to the Afghanistan Russian war...
The US propped up Bin Laden.....

Russia will do the same for Iran...if it comes to that...and Russia will be in it to win because of the embarrasing defeat in Afghanastan.....childish as it may seem..they never forget...

7. He said he was making that remark as the chief of the general staff...
...but NOT as the guy that will make the final decision about Russia supporting Iran, and that guy is Putin.
