Is the Pledge of Allegiance obselete now? I wish there were some big ass
Republican Free Trade CEO's to help me out here:

Why should the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America mean shit to me when our huge companies (Coke, Dell, yada yada yada...) are sending jobs overseas?

Why should this pledge mean a damned thing to me, or anyone else, when this country can't be bothered to provide us with clean air, water, medical care, or anything else tangible and meaningful to possibly having a decent life?

Hell, I don't even care about the "One nation under God crap," that's pretty meaningless....I can't remember anything in the Bible about "and on the 8th day, God decided to live exclusively in the US," so I would like to leave that out of the conversation.

2. I love your last line.
"I can't remember anything in the Bible about 'And on the 8th day, God decided to live exclusively in the US.'"

It's a good point.

4. Well, that's just crazy talk that was added later
But, I was thinking of the kids Shrubby was talking to at the elementary school about jobs in India (make sure you can get one here!) and thinking about those children saying the pledge that morning.

Sad, isn't it?

3. if you think clean air is so important, why not takeover a huge company
and sell clean air for a profit?

:sarcasm:

5. I'm a smoker. I don't give a damn about clean air personally. I care for
you all, of course!

9. Bush pledges allegiance to the flag
But he doesn't pledge allegiance to the Constitution. To him, the symbol is more important than the concept.
