I Support The U.S. Building A Tall, Wide Fence Around This Country
Just let me know before completion so I can escape through it and live a free life; rid of all who support it.

BOX 'EM IN I SAY! :bounce:

14. I have some relatives that would fit in just fine.
They're fundies. Moronia would be a perfect fit for them.

19. Whew! Now that's much better. "Moronia" is too much like
Angel of Moroni that appeared before Joesph Smith that got the Mormon church started.

5. The Romans built Hadrian's Wall, but in the end...
the wall became a pointless exercise because the wall couldn't protect the empire from collapsing inward on itself due to greed.

8. I support fencing in Nebraska or one of the Dakotas
Freepers can go live the "Godly" life they desire, one free of gays, non-whites, and "uppity women." They could even suspend the constitution there; I wouldn't care as long it didn't affect me.

10. While president, Teddy Roosevelt visited one of the last bona fide
native American chiefs on the Eastern seaboard.

What, he asked, could this great and wise man advise him about statecraft?

The chief thought for a while.

"Keep an eye on immigration," he said at last.

17. With all due respect,
With all due respect, that wall was to keep people in against their will. I honestly don't see the moral equivilance here.

32.  I don't define it.
I don't define it. The wall's function defines it.
The Berlin wall was like a prison wall that kept people in against their will, whether they deserved to have that happen to them or not.
A border wall is like a yard fence. It helps the people living behind it control who/what comes into their home.

So sorry, still not seeing the moral equivilance.

16. I happen to be in favor of large scale immigration.
I happen to be in favor of large scale immigration. My theory is that the sort of people who have the cojones to risk it all to come to America are exactly the sort of people we WANT.

However, if you come home and find a whole bunch of bees in your house, all of them flying in through an open window, YOU CLOSE THE FUCKING WINDOW! :D

Whatever you do next, whether it's catch and release or total annihilation, you have to START with closing the window.

In terms of the border, a rational second step would be to find effective ways to make employers believe that it's in their own best interest to not hire illegal aliens.

I personally have never hired anyone for anything where I didn't insist on being legit. I detest unpleasent surprises and hiring illegals is a good way to have 'em. Imagine having a materials accident on your jobsite and not being able to collect the insurance for broken windows or dropped refrigeratior because your underwriter discovered that you hired illegals. I have had a claim denied for a truck stolen by a native born citizen <cough>crackhead<cough> only because he was on a 1099 instead of a W2. The funny part is that I had him on a 1099 for a two week trial period and then at the end of just one I was so impressed with his work that I told him he was going on W2 on Monday and I gave him a $1.00/hr raise.
I already told you how he thanked me.

That's not the point. The point is that that's the risk you take with legal workers, so I damn sure wouldn't hire an illegal one. I'm thinking that everyone has a point where self-preservation overcomes greed. Just push it a little further that way.

26. Might be safer for the rest of the world that way
Box America and Americans in - start a tour business so people can fly over America and watch Americans in their natural habitat - at a safe distance. That way when America gets the itch to invade someone, they can invade each other

Have hidden cameras to watch Americans go about their everyday lives and satellite out to the rest of the world. So people can watch Americans on T.V. from the comfort and security of their homes. The new reality show: "Boxing America"
