Couric by not saying anything, showed her colors... Gene Shallitt
Edited on Thu Apr-20-06 07:33 AM by OmmmSweetOmmm
just gave American Dreamz a great review. When the review was over, Matt Lauer turns to Couric and says, he (Shallitt) liked it, how did you? Couric gave a tight lipped, nervous laugh and didn't say anything, looking uncomfortable.

This is the movie that lampoons the Shrub. In interviews of two of the movies stars, Hugh Grant and Dennis Quaid, Couric asked inappropriate questions, obviously in defense of the Shrub. In her interview with Grant, she asked if the portrayal of the Shrub was over the top, and the one with Quaid, she asked if it crossed the line from poking fun to being disrespectful.

For all of the Katie lovers out there...start watching and listening to her. She is no friend of America.

53. hum....
despite the fact that I am a rather perky 24 year old, I like the way you think. I think that perhaps you should have a sliding scale.

For example you grow up in Ethiopia you will lose all perkiness by the age of 8 unless of course you are a fascist moron. Then on the other hand if you grow up in Mass in the burbs you can make it all the way through grad school and retain perkiness until you are forced into the real world.

But it can always be revived once democracy is restored.

I don't mind perky women older than 24.

68. "Perky" only works the first few times you meet a person
Then after that, you need to bring some type of substance to the table, if you know what I mean.

Couric delivers no substance. The novelty of her as a real newswoman wears off quickly.

5. Chris Matthews, Tim Russert and now Couric.
It's like that game where you move your hand up and down in front of your face, and your face keeps changing. Those three seem to vacilate between principle and money.

First principle, now money, princple, money, principle, money, principle, money.

I guess they found a happy medium. They decided on the money that gives them the highest principle.

when he was on the show and she was interviewing him. She definitely has a thing for Bush or she doesn't like to admit she picked a looser to support. Or maybe, she likes those big tax breaks for the rich that Bush gave her.

60. Lucky you! I find that a man who can cook is a real turn on! I'm
the one here delegated to the kitchen though. I have been giving myself at least two new cooking "projects" a week, and so far the kids are quite happy. Especially since most of those "projects" deal with baking. For most of my life, I was blocked with baking but since I bought (used on eBay) a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer, I've been in heaven!

Have a beautiful day! :hi:

43. All morning show interviews are "talking points" journalism.
When you interview a Dem, ask their response to the Republican talking points. The fact those talking points have no basis in reality does not matter. It creates conflict and arguments.

My point is, I bet you she would do and say what pleases her new repuke boyfriend.

I don't get the impression she has a deep soul and gives a shit about anything important in the world.

33. Forgive me if I post this story one more time but it explains a lot
Here is Michael Moore in 2004 after he was on the Today Show:

You know. I was on a, one of those morning talk shows and after we went to commercial, the person who was interviewing me said you know, you are right, I mean when the war started, it was very difficult here to book the people we wanted to book, ask the questions we wanted to ask. In fact, I got a memo about my tone of voice. And apparently the brass had received a call from the Dick Cheney's office is what – and said that he didn't like my tone of voice. And I got a memo on it to watch my tone of voice. Well you've got to tell that story! You've got to tell that story. I can't. Well why? They can't fire you.

You are like one of the most well-known people in America. And, you know, you've got to tell this story. If you don't tell it, I'm going to wait like maybe another week. What's today? Within the week, I will put this on my web site. I'll tell the whole story and I'll name who said it. So this person is unnoticed now and I am doing it in a friendly way. Because this is a good person. You know? Just that I think the people deserve the truth and they need to know how the decisions get made behind the curtain. Who is pulling the strings here? Who's calling the shots? It's like, coming from where I come from politically, we always are in this place of yeah, the man this and the man that and this corporation and this and that and there's probably a part of us that says oh, you know, it's really, there's, maybe it's not that bad. You want to believe it isn't that bad. You know? And then, they have made the mistake of giving me a peek behind this curtain and I've seen this happen and it's stunning to me,

41. He never named the person but it had to be Couric or Lauer
most likely whoever was doing the interview with him.

You can see Couric get argumentative with guests like those this morning and with this little tidbit in the back of my mind I'm usually thinking "Cheney should be happy with her today."

I should see if I can find the transcript from the show you mention. I'm pretty sure that is the one Moore is refering to in this clip.

Edited on Thu Apr-20-06 12:20 PM by OmmmSweetOmmm
Moore's article is from July 2004 and Lauer interviewed him for Dateline in the middle of June 2004. Couric interviewed him on September 1, 2004...no transcript seems to be available.

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/5239322/

On edit..it could have been Couric. She interviewed him after Lauer on June 21st. She might have read his article and maybe that's why she was snottie with him in September.

This crap about Katie Couric is so over the top it is beyond silly. I for one am grateful she will now be merely reading the news. I also plan to not watch her.

Can we get back to other issues, like the possibility that the idiot in the WH may send nuclear weapons into Iran?

52. I can see more how
someone like couric(a shill for ge) would be lapping up the whole bush thing when he was still popular(gag) but now that he and his henchmen are in the toilet, ratings wise..what in the holy mother of pearl is her trip?

Way curious.

I'm hoping Meridith Viera won't be shilling for ge like that and will let her own true self come through.

59. I disagree, I believe history should show Bush being impeached for war
