How much is gas in your neck of the woods?

In upstate SC, 2.76 is the least expensive I've seen.

That was yesterday evening, so it may have changed.

32. Just heard $3.09 in some areas of Milwaukee.
I haven't seenn that nearby...yet.

Standard excuses...crude oil price, shortage due to seasonal maintenance and shift to summer blends.

14. I wonder how much this will impact tourism.
If people drastically cut back on vacations, this means resort areas will take in less money. Which means those states will take in less taxes. Which means those states will have to cut spending. Which means they'll have to cut services, and maybe jobs.

I heard that it may get upwards around 4.00 gal...this is sickening.....Americans should all stage a gas-out, where consumers stop buying gas for 1 week a couple of times a month, everyone. Stop buying new vehicles for the year, put the squeeze on these folks.

29. If it goes to $4.00 a gallon, think what that will do to the already
sucky economy. And what it will do to the already sucky job market.

I can't believe that BushCo really wants this. Not because I think they are too compassionate--no way! But this will hurt Republicans in November.

33. Last fall NCers were driving to upstate SC to fill up.
For some reason, SC has some of the lowest petrol prices in the nation. BTW raccoon, pre-paid fuel at Engle's (Traveler's Rest) gets you another 3-cents off their Spinxx-like price.

Look! Google Spinxx Oil Company. The second return is a DU thread ( http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x2186064 )!

I think Georgia governator Sonny Perdue exempted some of the petrol tax last fall when gas hit the $3/gal mark.
