What would you do with half a trillion $ ? (Iraq war cost)

Now that * has blown about half a trillion, and counting, on this disastrous, repulsive war in Iraq; I was thinking about the good that money could have done.
I think we could have had a Apollo type of energy program and maybe ended our dependency on foreign oil with new and renewable energy sources.
Oh yes, and we'd have the money to rebuild New Orleans.

What would you have had our Gov. do with the money?

1. Create Affordable Housing, Food, Jobs and Education!

And since, at this time, the entire amount being spent on the above is under 10% of the entire national budget, I am sure there would be plenty left over to do what you suggest as well. Over 60% of our tax dollars is being spent on military and more for pork given away to corporations and the rich, so...it would be a piece of cake to actually spend money FOR THE PEOPLE rather than killing people.

3. Offer it as a reward

To be paid in full to the person who would testify he destroyed Dubyah's National Guard records.

4. Give every child in America a decent education through college.

End starvation in the world.

Buy back our government from the Corporate Dominionists who control it.

5. create a bunch of new oil companies

and put the old ones out of business, bring gas prices back to normal.

6. End world hunger, build enough schools for everyone, have universal health

care, and with the extra couple hundred millions I would selfishly fund my favorite program, the space program...
