1. The military band played the pledge. It was odd seeing the Bush and
the president of China standing side by side--a communist country with a very poor track record on human rights and Bush( a pres. with no credibility).

10. I thought this visit was lower in status than a full state visit.
I'd read that in a piece from The Guardian (I do believe) that was very anti-China overall.
