At first, it was thought Rove went to WH so he would have protection...
of executive privilege. When he became an official member of Cabinet as some sort of Under Secretary, he was under W's wing. It is noteworthy now that he is leaving his position that he still keeps his title with White House protection from prosecution and jail. It's good to have a friends in high places.

1. It doesn't sound like he's protected from EVERYTHING!
I just read a news story this AM that Fitz told the GJ he expected to present evidence to them soon and ask for a multicount indictment against Rover!

3. Bush can still pardon him...
and I would guess that he would if it got too hot for Karl to handle.

7. A Presidential pardon is not the result of "Executive Privelege"
of the WH. A Presidential Pardon is available to ANYONE.

Would Karl get a pardon? Of course, and so will Libby and any other "helpful to the WH" person. Executive privelege is different in that you can claim Ex. Priv. when asked a question and legally not have to answer. Similar to the 5th ammendment right.

9. True....
The "executive privilege" would only be of assistance to him if documents or records were requested, or tapes or emails...

4. I wonder if he can "offer advice" even if he is indicted.

8. He COULD, but politically, it would be foolish for anyone to
accept that advice. Remember all we heard about everyone in the WH being told NOT to even speak to Libby after he was indicted?

2. Evil surrounded by evil protecting evil so they can continue to do evil.
Rove has been unleashed so he can now devote his full evil energy to the November elections. It is not bode well for those trying to unseat the Repukes.

6. truthout has some skinny on yesterday's G Jury meeting:

Just as the news broke Wednesday about Scott McClellan resigning as White House press secretary and Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove shedding some of his policy duties, Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald met with the grand jury hearing evidence in the CIA leak case and introduced additional evidence against Rove, attorneys and other US officials close to the investigation said.

The grand jury session in federal court in Washington, DC, sources close to the case said, was the first time this year that Fitzgerald told the jurors that he would soon present them with a list of criminal charges he intends to file against Rove in hopes of having the grand jury return a multi-count indictment against Rove.

so ... how's he feeling today?

edit to add:.. not soon enough for me.
