The Rethugs are going to do whatever it takes to retain the House and Sena
We have got to give it all we have to stop them. They will try all their ususal tricks,

divide us along racial, and religious lines... and I'm sure they will come up with somehting new....Thats Rove's job... They are scared as shit of losing, because they know if they lose, their regressive agenda is dead.

The only way we can get Bush/Cheney and stop this madness, is to take back the House.
Anyone have any new ideas on how we can accomplish this?

1. They will try the usual tricks and maybe some that are not usual.
I do believe for some of them it is a matter of life or death.

2. Would be nice to know what Rove has up his sleeve.
Maybe we should resort to their devious tactics and bug his office?? Best thing we can do, IMHO, is call a spade a spade. Our candidates must be blunt and to the point about this adminstration and Congress - call them the liars they are. The truth will prevail and it must be shouted loud and clear.

I have a co-worker who voted for Bush last year tell me yesterday she's voting straight Democratic ticket in November because she recognizes the abuse of power. Now we just have to hope the votes are counted properly......

5. I think that's the biggest thing.
"Now we just have to hope the votes are counted properly..."

I would even venture to say that this may be the only thing we really have to be concerned about. Well, this and vote suppression. If people are allowed to vote and if their votes are counted accurately then we will most likely win big. But those are two very big ifs.

4. Well, we do have 2 BIG things on our side!
Fitz & Abramoff!!!! Even the magic of the Rover won't be able to do much about THOSE!

The only other suggestion I have is that I hope all Dem candidates learned a lot from the Kerry campaign. When you encounter a Swift Boat Like campaign against you, you MUST immediately respond! It really is true that "an accusation made and not responded to within 24 hours is assumed to be true!"

6. when Rove is indicted - we do have an opportunity
any candidate that is linked with Rove (as in Martha Rainville up for House seat in Vermont)needs to be spotlighted, questioned in the media. We need to pound the culture of corruption meme and get these scandels to the surface. Seems to be working in a roundabout way in Ohio. Any counter-media by the right has to be answered by, "that is comming from source that is not credible - that is comming from a LIAR"

In other words, the gloves are off this time around - if they're corrupt, call them that, to their face, on national TV. Call tweety a liar to his face, on the air. Call Katie a panderer, to her face, on TV. Gloves are off, the pukes had their gloves off last time, payback's a bitch.

8. There is virtually nothing they can do
about the clusterfuck that is Iraq, or gas prices, or the inevitable real estate bust, or any number of other issues that are front and center. An army of Karl Roves couldn't change the calculus. This is not to say that we will take back both or even one House, that's a huge endeavor, but we will make significant gains.

12. Gains are not enough !... We must take back at least Congress
We will not be able to have real investigations, etc.. without control of the house!

If we have control, we cripple the Presidency and have him on the ropes for the rest of his residency!

11. The new meme is already starting...local races are not the same
so they can explain why Bush is polling at 34% and Congress is polling at 29% BUT everyone in congress will be re-elected in their home districts.

There is actually SOME truth to this usually. But this year I believe it's going to be used to cover up voting corruption at an unprecedented level.

15. You guys overestimate Karl Rove by a mile.
He's just a cheap dirty trickster like Donald Segretti and Lee Atwater. We know he'll lie, plant false evidence, initiate slander, set up patsies, engage in vote suppression -- and with electronic voting, vote "enhancement".

He's going to be indicted soon -- perhaps for lying, slander, obstruction of justice, criminal conspiracy, who know what all! He's probably going to jail eventually.

I think he'll be a little use this year, or hereafter.
