I can just hear Rove telling Hu right now, "See Mr. Hu, it would have been much more quieter if you had accepted our offer to meet the president at the ranch. The protesters couldn't have gotten within a hundred miles of you there. Free speech zones and all."

Then Hu probably said to Rove, "Tell me more about these free speech zones."

1. So "HU" refused to go to the ranch? Hu probably just wanted..............
....wanted some good camera time and a few headlines but the situation also had another benefit. It got the boy king up front and personal with the opinion America's thinking citizens truly have of him. None of that "by invitation only stuff this time, right??:bounce:

3. I think Hu Jintao visiting Bush was a courtesy call.
He probably had some business to discuss with Bill Gates, & dropped in at the WH because diplomacy demanded it.

Diplomacy & courtesy: NOT what he got at the WH!

4. bush was strictly on the b-list
the real power is those who were at the gates compound. actually the most interesting people were at the compound not at the whitehouse. sad isn`t it-our country`s leader is not on the a-list. i`m sure hu would have meant with clinton first, don`t you?
