"Green" issue of Vanity Fair

Huge issue with Al Gore, Julia Roberts, Robert Kennedy Jr. and George Clooney on front cover. I picked it up for my trip next week to read it, but thought some people might want to get it while it's out there.

my wife was getting ready to take a bubble bath, came in to check on the water and Gus had jumped in on his own and was just sitting there enjoying the tub!

14. that is my dachshund, Tippy. He liked to sit up and get your

attention. He also liked to climb up your lap and put his arms around you and press his face against yours. He was the truest, most beautiful soul I ever knew. My Tippy. 1994-2005. RIP, my baby.

My Tippy was. Don't let them jump down from high things. Tippy would still be alive but he popped a vessel in his leg and died in AGONY, VICIOUS agony five days later. Never did a soul deserve such an end.

yeah, we are very paranoid about our lil weiner dog hurting himself. We even have a ramp so he can get in and out of our bed without jumping!

(Vanity Fair) - Clichés are, by definition, over used. But here is a rare exception - a certifiable cliché that warrants more exposure, because it carries meaning deeply relevant to the biggest challenge our civilization has ever confronted.

The Chinese expression for "crisis" consists of two characters: 危機. The first is a symbol for "danger"; the second is a symbol for "opportunity."

The rapid accumulation of global-warming pollution in the Earth's atmosphere is now confronting human civilization with a crisis like no other we have ever encountered. This climate crisis is, indeed, extremely dangerous, but it also presents unprecedented opportunities.

Before we can get to the opportunities, however, it is crucial to define the danger, and to discuss how it is that we in the United States seem to be having such difficulty perceiving that danger.

Vanity Fair is practically nothing but ads, ads, ads, and a colossal waste of paper. I defy you to immediately find their table of contents, which could be on p 15 or p 20 or even p 35 (that is, if you can find the page numbers at all) -- it all depends on how many ads they want to stuff up in the front of the mag. And the more gigantic the issue, the greater the number of ads, the greater the amount of paper required, and ultimately the fewer the number of trees left to us. And now their "Green" issue is "huge", you say? Well, TIM-BERRRRR!!!

Am I the only one perturbed by this unfortunate irony?

I wonder if I can read the magazine online instead...

That would've been the least they could've done for a "green" issue.. something tells me they didn't.
