Speaking as a recoverING alcoholic, it chaps my ass to see people casting aspersions like that about ANYONE. This particular issue transcends politics. There's a list of things to rag on him about that's 100 miles long, right? You don't need this one.

I know that at social events where there's drinking I will either have a glass in my hand pretty much constantly, because I'm a thirsty guy. The glass will be filled with diet coke or seltzer with a dash of bitters, but it will be there.

I remember about a decade ago I had a girl I know actually claim that she saw me drinking a beer at a party. She didn't, and in fact at that point I already had about 5 years under my belt, but it still pissed me off hugely.

So, seein' as how yesterday was my birthday and you didn't get me anything, how about doing ME a favor and not going down this particular road.

Instead, how about... How about his completely useless and spineless immigration policies?

I didn't intend to cast undeserved aspersions on *. Having considerable experience with alcoholics, he does fall down far too often to be sober (it's a typical symptom), unless he has some other disease we don't know about.

Out of consideration, though, I will avoid these topics in future. :)

He has never undergone any formal program other than praying with Billy Graham, to my knowledge. The famous video of him at a wedding indicates that he was drinking long after he claims to have found Jesus and quit. Just sayin'. ANd happy birthday.
