Bush plays wrong anthem
Kitty Pilgrim just reported on Lou Dobb's show that Bush played the Taiwan national anthem instead of China's. Just how much more stooopid can this guy get? Don't answer that.....I am afraid of what may be told! LOL.

Good grief.:dunce:

12. Made It Happen On Purpose
referring to September 11 - the theory that Bushco actively had a hand in 9/11 in order to become a war president and brand all critics as traitors. As opposed to LIHOP - Let It Happen On Purpose - that is, Bushco ignored warnings hoping that 9/11 would happen resulting in the same thing.

Made It Happen On Purpose. This states that the Bush administration had a direct hand in the 9/11 attacks.

LIHOP: Let It Happen On Purpose. This states that the Bush administration knew about the attacks, but did nothing to stop them.

Bush is hosting the leader of China but plays the Taiwan national anthem?

Wouldn't this be a huge international faux pas? I mean, China doesn't recognize Taiwan, does it?

Wouldn't this be an insult to China?

Do I understand this correctly?

If "yes," then :spray:

Taiwan's formal name is "Republic of China".

It's still a very stupid mistake and exactly the wrong country to mistake it with.

albeit indirectly by the absence of being reported otherwise, that it was merely how they referred to China and NOT the anthem itself that was the problem.

As I said, if it was the anthem too, that would be NEW information.

scandalised posts of some on here, reproaching DUers for preferring the sensational than the truthful! They just can't help revealing themselves, can they?

Do you self-righteous mutts really believe that the 'faux pas' was any the less grotesque? If realpolitick demands he make political concessions that he loathes, like his father, Bush plainly can't help himself from throwing a bone to the monied rednecks of his base, the lowest of the low. He is terrified of losing face. Remember his old man vomiting onto the lap of the Japanese dignitary at a formal dinner. Is there any other world leader you could ever imagine doing something like that?

("Republic of China" .... "Peoples' Republic of China")

It is a relatively easy mistake to make, UNLESS YOU'RE THE FUCKING PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, who is supposed to damned well know better than to insult his guest, the President of China.

Let alone, grabbing him by his jacket. Our president is a pig. A sloppy, uncaring, uncouth clod who insults heads of states with his ignorance.

Then again, this is probably the same person who advised Dick Cheney what to wear to the solemn Auschwitz memorial service.

I'm not even a China expert, but I could have handled this occasion more appropriately.

I expect this little event will be censored in China -- how unfortunate -- but the rest of the world's minds reel.

It was different when he confused Slovakia and Slovenia. They're not mortal enemies. In fact, they're very similar in many ways.
This isn't just stupid. Taiwan and PRC each think they are the true "China" and the other has no right to exist. It's been a powder keg waiting to explode for the past half a century. This is a dangerous mistake. You don't want to mess with either of them. There is no good guy in this situation either.

Seems like most everything went fine with Bill Gates, but then, he does have brains.

The outburst of the woman reporter was an insult, calling the President's Country by the wrong name was an international incident!

And grabbing Hu by the jacket was just plain insanely stupid!
