Gas price average tops $3 in Calif.-Thank You Liar, Leaker, and Thief!!!
Edited on Fri Apr-21-06 11:39 AM by dogday
California on Thursday became the first state in the continental USA to see average gasoline prices go above $3 a gallon in 2006, while the price at the pump in Los Angeles hit an all-time high.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas in California hit $3.015 Thursday, up 3 cents from the day before and up 34 cents from a month ago, according to a daily tally from motorist club AAA and the Oil Price Information Service (OPIS). The average statewide price is 4 cents shy of the all-time high reached in September.

Some regions in Southern California set records Thursday. The average price in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area hit $3.029, the highest price on record. Prices in Orange County, Riverside-San Bernadino, Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-Lompoc and Ventura also broke records.

While gas prices in California are often higher than in other states because of the different clean-air blends used there and fewer pipelines present, there recently has been a pricing frenzy in spot gasoline markets on the West Coast, says Fred Rozell of OPIS.

Remember when Bush said if you vote for Kerry, the price of Gas would go up?

1. People are pawning things for gas cash
At least that's what they said on CNN a little bit ago. (Had a pawn show owner interviewed over the phone.)

Also, they are reporting gas shortages on the Northeast coast...didn't catch the explanations for them. They were showing pics of pumps with "Out of Gas" signs and bags on the handles.

3. I'm seriously thinking of flying to Texas...
And while there, I'm going to stand outside Exxon/Mobil headquarters. Until I get the chance to talk to their chicken-necked fat ass of a CEO, Lee Raymond. And I just want to ask him the question:

"WHY ARE WE PAYING SO MUCH FOR GAS? AND WHY IS IT THAT A COUNTRY LIKE VENEZUELA CAN PAY $0.12 A GALLON AND WE PAY $3.00 A GALLON?"

5. Yikes!
My friend in L.A. commutes about 40 miles (often more than 2 hours in SoCal traffic) to work every day. He's on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

6. Saw 2.94 at a station here today. What a joke. Gotta make sure
those fat cats can get those 400 million dollar retirement packages.

This is what will get to the hardcore 30% of the population that still support Chimpy. You don't screw with an American's ability to get in his car and drive where ever he wants to go. We are a mobile society.

7. On my way to work it was $3.12 in N CA (Davis)
I decided to take the train and commute to work from next week on. It will add 2 hours to my working day, but it will be $138 a month and way cheaper than driving 70 miles a day.

I had enough of all that BS. Gigantic profits for oil companies, huge pension packages for their CEOs, and we are getting screwed.

8. Where's all the FREE GAS FROM IRAQ we were promised, huh...?
...I mean, after they got finished throwing flowers and candy at us, we were supposed to get really, really cheap GAS, right?

No?

Sorry, my bad.

the maladministration ever said that we would get cheap gas from the Iraq invasion. Liars! Everyone of them!

9. Up here in the sticks in CA
The price jumped to $3.14 at most places. I filled up yesterday when I saw that sign that said $3.04! Thank goodness I'm no longer a commuter. I remember last summer while still in Texas (Austin area) when it got up to $2.99 (and over 3 bucks in some places) and it was a real killer on the pocketbook just to get to and from work.

10. Yeah, it's pretty awesome! We went from "medication or food?" to:
"Medication, food, or gas?"

Bush loves the poor so much, he gave them another option!

It hit the $2.9999 last Saturday and has been going up by the day. My daughter is in upstate New York and even the price up there is over $3.00 too.

California, you aren't alone in this.

18. Just filled up. $2.99 a gallon in central Ca for the cheap stuff
When I bought this car in 1999, it cost me $19 to fill the tank. Now it costs me $45, but according to the Shrub in Chief, there's NO INFLATION.
