But, but, but I thought
there were no secret prisons in Eastern Europe. How can you leak something that does not exist. Isn't that what Bushco said when reports started showing up? So when will Bushco be charged for lying.

1. Yes, prosecuting McCarthy for leaking the news about secret
Edited on Fri Apr-21-06 07:12 PM by joemurphy
prisons in Eastern Europe run by the CIA to circumvent the restrictions of U.S. law and U.S. public scrutiny is really a good idea. See, we can't have the American people learn about secret prisons and torture. They might have some silly qualms about it.

I sincerely hope the Bush Administration is stupid enough to prosecute McCarthy. We'll find out then whom the real traitors to America are.

3. Unfortuantely, she will probably be convicted.

All CIA agents sign a paper when they first sign on, that they will not release any confidential info to a non-suthorized person. That includes a reporter! If the WH goes down, cases like this could be dropped because of the seriousness of the other ones, but if that doesn't happen, she's probably facing time!

Edited to typos.

4. She'll be regarded like Daniel Ellsberg as a martyr for truth
and decency if she is. Prosecuting her would be asking for trouble big time.

7. 9-11 changed everything.
You were thinking of what Father Don likes to call the "Old Europe." Things change. Just don't think about it. Trust the president to keep you safe, so that you can go to Wal-Mart without being at risk of being attacked by terriblists.
