Locally, gas here is about $2.78, which is relatively cheap compared to most of the country. Anyway, someone I know who is a rw'er overheard me griping about the high gas prices. They piped up and said: "Hey if you think a gallon of gas is expensive, I had to pay $3.29 for a gallon of milk last night at the grocery store." I just said "Bad analogy man, when was the last time you consumed 10 gallons of milk in a day?" He had no reply for that one. :rofl:

I stopped to get gas tonight ($2.86 for regular) and as I stepped out of the car, the person in the car a head of me began to moan ... "Can You Believe This? $57.00!" Then I heard the lady in the next lane say that she stops everyday to get $10 worth of gas now and today, it got her to work and back to the gas station only!


It is really starting to hurt everyone, not just those of us with an already stretched budget. This is going to be one long, hot, interesting summer for sure.

Those high gas prices there really don't kill cconsumers there as bad as they do here. Those are VERY small countries compared to the US, they drive much more fuel efficient vehicles, sprawl is not a problem, and they have great mass transit. There are a dizzying number of explanations for how this could happen, including deficient refining capacity, which we know the industry suppressed in the last twenty years to drive up prices.

The facts remain that prices are at an all time high, as are corporate profits. I'm willing to put two and two together, and conclude something is amiss.
