Oprah did a show on social/financial 'class' and status in America. Nothing that you would not expect EXCEPT.......How would how feel being (one of) the granddaughters of Warren Buffet and NOT have a trust fund OR not live on what his money could buy. She was given an education and supported through college but that's it. She needs to make her own way.

2. I've known a couple

women whose parents were well off and were not given money for college. They are both doing well. I think it did make them work harder than they would have. But it's hard to know.

3. i paid for my own college, my dad had the money but his motto was--

"Less learning, more earning" in hindsight i'm glad i made my own way, i would never want to be beholden to him for anything--a bank would remind you less often than him that they loaned you money.

4. I read an article about this a long time ago. Apparently, Buffet

is leaving everything he has to charity and not the family, which I think sucks to a certain degree. In his case he could leave a substantial amount to his family and still leave a lot to charity. I understand the "tough love" philosophy, but shit - leave the family some money to invest for themselves and see how well they do (well, I guess Buffett wouldn't see how well they did, since he'd be dead).

5. Remember he still lives in his original house

Conspicuous Consumption is not his thing. He sees what money can do to people...look at Paris Hilton.

6. He would be my ideal politician.

He is working with Tom Osbourne and they plan on having an independent investigation into where are tax money is going. We pay the 8th highest amount of taxes in the country, and it doesn't show.

He openly opposes taxes breaks for the rich, and believes the country would be better off, if the middle-class payed less.

Like someone said, his home is worth about $750,000, very modest considering he's the second richest man in the world.
