3. thanks, I enjoyed that.
I noticed at the end the male host concluded by saying Neil Young was speaking out on an important issue and couldn't possibly be doing it for publicity. It was pretty clear he was irritated with Vargas and didn't want to give her a chance to spin her concluding commentary.

I'm looking forward to the album.

....and bigtime ditto head too. "Don't you worry about being unpatriotic?" "Aren't you Canadian?" Bite me lady. Neil cold smoked her with his comments and defence of free speech, and of Canada and the U.S. and all free nations and of his American family....

Neil for President!:headbang: And Neil for Prime Minister!!:headbang:

25. the great thing about this is the corporate media is putting Impeachment
into the national lexicon.

It may not seem like it, things have changed a lot in recent months. The tide is turning.

Neil Young's remarks would have been viewed as the tin foil hat ramblings of a crazy person 2 years ago. (like I was when I mentioned the word, even in front of supposed Democrats)

Visualize Impeachment!

4. the most amazing part of this was.....
....that he stated his differences with the bush admin but he never insulted anyone.

show me one time....ONE TIME....that a repuke expressed differences with dems without reverting to some sort of insult.

24. I wish such civility were a part of our culture.
It isn't though; insulting the opposition, political or other, is a national pastime.

Edited on Fri Apr-21-06 08:39 PM by TWriterD
Young is very well-spoken:

--"It's about living with war and having a conscience."
--"No one owns the 9/11 mentality."
--"Proud to be paying taxes for 40 years."
--"respect other peoples' opinions."

Even made a nice pro-union plug. I haven't followed his career too closely, but he seems like a really decent human being.

14. Me too. And if you haven't seen "Heart of Gold" - go.
But I imagine you have. What a soothing way to spend 103 minutes!

Vargas was so out of her league as far as grey matter and just itchin' to pick a fight with him. And that smug little "hmmm" at the end - grrr.

30. Just had to boot my old and slow laptop - the only computer around
here with sound - to view this video. Indeed, Young does a very good job in fielding and slamming down all the right-wing talking points in this "interview". The best of the whole thing is at the very end, where the in-studio anchor says it is "ridiculous" that anyone should think that Young is doing this kind of work and taking this kind of position "for the money". Of course, Vargas had made just that suggestion in one of her questions to Young. She was not a happy camper!

33. Neil Young always was my favorite American from Canada.
Edited on Sat Apr-22-06 08:40 PM by fearnobush
I've seen him 12 times over the past 2 decades. And no, he was never a Bush fan. From his Freedom Album during Chimperior's daddies Administration "We have a kinder gentler machine gun hand" to His Greendale Album:

The White House always blames the governor (G. Davis)
Saying the solution is to vote him out."
On top of that great bronze eagle
Sun's voice was loud and clear. She said,
"Power Co's working with the White House
to paralyze our state with fear." (Rolling Black outs in CA anyone?)

Neil eternally rocks. And I know alot of Republicans that love him too.
