Better for Fitzgerald to drag out investigation?
I'm asking. Because if he convicts all the underlings BEFORE * is out of office...he's just going to pardon them on his way out.

If they know he's going to drag this out until * is gone...then knowing they would actually serve significant time would make those little pansies sing like canaries.

"If I take one for the team, I may actually end up in prison for years."

Now obviously, if * is removed from office BEFORE the end of his term, then that wouldn't be an issue.

I'm not a lawyer. So I'm just throwing out something that crossed my mind.

What do y'all think?

1. He can pardon for the acts themselves and they'd get off
Nixon was never convicted of anything before he was pardoned.

3. True.
More, Nixon never pardoned anyone, because he was aware of his own closely related legal issues. Bush isn't likely to pardon anyone.

4. Shrub will be in office way too long to drag the investigation out
and miss any pardons. Besides, I doubt Fit is dragging anything out! He just wrapped up the other case he was working on in Ill. and can now focus his attention on the Plame case. Fitz just doesn't seem to be a player to me. He has a job to do, and he does it the best way he can. Whatever time it takes...so be it.

5. You can't pardon for treason, high crimes and misdemeanors.
He may not be able to pardon... it depends on the crime.

6. Hell No. Lock them up right now!
If you knew the identify of a person who robbed convenience stores every night would you wait until he had stolen a million dollars before you turned him in? Hell no, you'd turn him in and get the criminal off the street, stop him from doing more harm, just as soon as possible.

Same with this evil cabal. Lock them up, and the sooner the better.
