Sweden Slashes US Dollar Holdings In Half
Snip...

The International Monetary Fund chipped in, helpfully pointing out that the dollar will need to depreciate “significantly” if global economic imbalances are to be resolved in an orderly fashion. Then on Friday it was the turn of politicians and central bankers to highlight another potential threat to the dollar – that of reserve diversification.

Sweden’s Riksbank said it had slashed the proportion of dollars in its reserves from 37 to 20 per cent, pushing its euro holdings up to 50 per cent.

Alexei Kudrin, the Russian finance minister, said at the G7 summit in Washington that the dollar was not the “absolute” reserve currency and that the US external deficit could affect the dollar’s reserve status in the future.

3. Bush has been a real blessing for america haters
He's put a face on so much imperial evil,
that was so much more veiled in the past,
and now ever tin pot weevil,
revels in the erosion of previous wealth erased,
inconceivable a few years ago.

6. And with Bush's treatment of Hu....
I wouldn't be at all surprised if China started liquidating Treasuries as well. The world is going to send a message to Bush. Unfortunately the American people are going to be the ones that suffer from that "message". Thanks, Bush. You have the entire world hating our guts and plotting ways to bring us to our knees without ever firing a shot.

Canada is starting to look very good in my eyes. I'm ashamed to be an American.

9. Yet it was the clinton treasury-imperialists that almost did your country
Bush pretty much left your neighborhood alone, by
the standard of the asian financial crisis bought and
sold by more subtle imperial meddlers. I presume
part of the reason your posts are so unsympathetic and sardonic,
that you are not conscious of the better american people,
and how were you to meet us, some of your humor would be
embarassingly harsh and ill considered.

We suffer with the same evil tyrant, except stateside he
is the prison warden, hidden in a barbed wire tower.
And people are "free" without medical care, without the
supporting means to pay for a human standard of living
without being rich... and most of those poor, the vast large
majority millions, are not literate, or not able to afford
to write here and defend themselves from your curse.

To take your wishes for an end to tyranny on to people
who are oppressed, makes your posts a tad harsh.. and
in that you are with us here in this community, you might
consider please.

To a buddhist, all humankind are equal, sentient beings who
suffer... or that is the theory. Then if you took that to
heart, your readers are all suffering under the bush tyranny
as well as you are, so you can take your finger off the
trigger as you pass through a room of civilians on to more
monsters or robots with guns.

You are writing your compositions on an internet some of us
have participated in designing and spreading worldwide, as a
gift of american innovation to political agents like yourself.
And in that grey soup, your moral position is unclear.

Yes I know you suffer
I hear the scream of Lady Liberty as was been rape from way over in my country
so l came and see what is up
I am sorry for all your poor or your people who dont have medic aid
I am sure they like their plight being know
And how on earth did the word I write get turn into a curse

To assume I am a buddhist is so wrong, I am a christian :)

Lucky you dont claim credit you make the next
Me political agent  ME UNO AGENT
My moral position unclear
Maybe me like go GITMO paradise
Maybe one day me stop posting
Maybe one day me get free air travel

Do you know what you talking about ?

Are in you so much pain that you need to take it our on me
Me good sponge

12. eye yey eye
lots of moving graphics there!!! ooh! :-)

When you curse people to suffer under bush, sometimes your
terms can be read by a native english speaker as broad brushing
off bush on to the american people.

I apologize for misinterpreting what seems like an oversight.

I like your posts, and i hope you keep posting.
I was merely remarking that if you sanded that
edge a bit, your readership would likely be
more conversational.

Instead, you seem like your moniker, a disinteretsted
overseeing visitor who reflects the malice the
world feels towards bush impeccably... and for that,
gosh, most of us are totally unfamiliar with that, nad
need to be reminded.... constantly! :-)

In my view, all people in the world are americans, and their
free speech is respected and invited.

In reading your poetry, i notice you speak well
as a neutral agent, but not as loyal opposition..
but we need the constructive criticism of a loyal opposition
here, as that is the foundation of the site.

I think your contribution is brilliant, and i
hope you take it deeper over a lifetime to become
a profound friend of a global truth online where
we are bloggers templar.. against tyrants.

to your health and the well being of all you love,
:toast:

14. aye aye
I don't like clinton. he was no friend of my politics,
nor is bush. My politics have never ever been in power
in the United States, as a Buddhist. I don't recognize
the authority of violence, though i was raised in it
indeed... you like that nuclear war pooem! :-)

Page to the very back of my journal archive to find
a poem more representative of my real life offline.

I left the USA during the clinton years when it was
obvious the whole place was going to pot politically.
I presume i am free, perhaps wrongly these days, and
in my mistaken freedom, i choose to live away from
criminal government, and to not support it with the
tax of my labour.

8. They haven't hear how good
our economy is?

Does anyone else find their head spinning as they listen to pundits debate why bush's approval can be so low, even on the economy, when the economy is so strong? Of course polls reflect how we see the economy affecting us and our towns and states, but the global picture is even worse.

We rely on the oil dollar, on other countries investing in our debt and our dollar, for our day to day economy. Our huge deficit makes that a very poor choice of investment and that is no secret.

The great economic markers pundits blather about are a very poor measure of our economic strength or standing.

15. As (not if) the US$ slides
your goods become cheaper to export which will help correct the trade deficit. Conversly imports become dearer making them ledd attractive. Of course exporting does pre-suppose you're still actually manufacturing. If not then yes problems will loom on the horizon. I suppose looking the brightside I might just be able to buy American made Converse sneakers again - whoopee !

16. That is bullspit
Ask every country that has implemented IMF structural adjustment policies. We devalue, deregulate and divest and foreigners come in and buy up our assets while our industries cannot compete with the transnationals. The price of homes increase as the greedy sell out to whoever can buy from overseas. Our professionals have their salaries reduced annually as depreciation of the home currency continies while the privatization of key areas of infrastructure means that the price of water, electricity etc only go up. Devaluation and increased fuel prices also factor in to the costs of electricity which rises monthly.

As professionals and unskilled workers are no longer able to survive at home they all head guess where - north - to undermine your labour rights, health care and pensions. After 20 plus years of this bullspit, there has been no correction between imports and exports. Indeed more and more foreign goods flood our market. The rich are richer and everyone else is suffering. Our senior citizens living on pensions cannot even pay utility bills and I'm talking about seniors who were professionals as their pensions are worth nothing as a result of devaluation, inflationand price increases.

Neoliberal and globalization policies are being propelled by corporations and these multilateral agencies while humanity suffers.

People across the globe have one option - to weaken corporate power and demand democracy in the marketplace as well as political democracy. Unless there is economic democracy, representative democracy is fugging meaningless.

about the reality of IMF structural adjustment programmes. They only help transnational corporations, the crooked banks and money traders.
