Ours are up to 2.90 - it was 2.75 on Monday. Where were your prices just before the steady diet of biweekly hikes? Ours was about at 2.36 - 2.43 - so not as steep of a climb... So far...

15. I'm going to quit driving my Acura (20/28mpg)

and drive my husband's old Escort wagon that gets 30-40 mpg. It might not be the nicest looking vehicle in the world, but it gets from point A to B, now I work in RE sales, my company decides to fire me for driving a clunker I'll sue their asses!

5. In high school in the mid 60's we thought gas was high when it hit 30 cent

a gallon. Full service too. Check the oil, tires and wash the windshield. I still think it is wrong for a woman to have to fuel her own vehicle, I guess thats just the okie in me.

It averaged $3.09 to $3.19 yesterday. I am afraid to see what it is today. If you are in New Jersey (cheaper there than here in NY), I don't want to know. It is already costing me $25.00 a week for half a tank to just drive back and forth to work.

at least as far as I've seen, driving all over, there's nothing under $3 anywhere - including the old "cut-rate," no-frills stations, like Liberty and No-Name.

Every place has the exact same prices.

9. Price Goes Up For Exactly The Same Gas ... No Tanker Truck Stopped.

You buy gas in the morning for $2.90, you come back two hours later and the price is up to $3.00 per gallon. In the time between the first visit and the second no new gas was added to the station's underground tank. So now tell me, how is gas that was worth two ninety at nine in the morning now worth three bucks at noon? The tank truck did not alight and disgorge a more pricey cargo than what was in the tank before. You are simply being sold exactly the same gas for a higher price.

Bush threatens to nuke Iran and the price goes up. Here we are told there are shortages in the Northeast. Someone tell me how a threat yesterday materializes as a shortage today when no a single bit less product has reached these shores.

12. what really burns my butt about this is...

At a time when the people, who really can't afford to pay these kinds of scalping prices, oil company CEOs are getting $400 million retirement packages and oil companies are making record profits!!!!!!!!!

And we all know where they're making record profits, don't we? By over charging everyone else for their products!!!

Yesterday gas here was $2.79 per gallon (Oklahoma). I put $25.00 in my little Nissan......it almost gave me a full tank. I figured I'd better get gas now before it goes any higher.
