The architects of war: Where are they now?
Edited on Sat Apr-22-06 11:37 AM by brainshrub
If there is any justice in this world, they will all be eventually be tried and jailed for war crimes.

Psychopaths. Every one of them.

The architects of war: Where are they now?

PAUL WOLFOWITZ

Role In Going To War: Wolfowitz said the U.S. would be greeted as liberators, that Iraqi oil money for pay for the reconstruction, and that Gen. Eric Shinseki’s estimate that several hundred thousand troops would be needed was “wildly off the mark.”

Where He Is Now: Bush promoted Wolfowitz to head the World Bank in March 2005.

Key Quote: “We are dealing with a country that can really finance its own reconstruction and relatively soon.”

<snip>

RICHARD PERLE

Role In Going To War: Richard Perle, the so-called “Prince of Darkness,” was the chairman of Defense Policy Board during the run-up to the Iraq war. He suggested Iraq had a hand in 9-11. In 1996, he authored “Clean Break,” a paper that was co-signed by Douglas Feith, David Wurmser, and others that argued for regime change in Iraq. Shortly after the war began, Perle resigned from the Board because he came under fire for having relationships with businesses that stood to profit from the war.

Where He Is Now: Currently, Perle is a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute where he specializes in national security and defense issues. He has been investigated for ethical violations concerning war profiteering and other conflicts of interest.

Key Quote: “And a year from now, I’ll be very surprised if there is not some grand square in Baghdad that is named after President Bush. There is no doubt that, with the exception of a very small number of people close to a vicious regime, the people of Iraq have been liberated and they understand that they’ve been liberated. And it is getting easier every day for Iraqis to express that sense of liberation.”

Where is this "tipping point" that we keep talking about amongst ourselves?

Sometimes I get so mad.

3. I don't think Perle resigned from the board, but only resigned
his chairmanship.

4. Oh, they are very much around....

Paul Wolfowitz - head of the World Bank.

William Kristol - publisher of the Weekly Standard. He's still a big Neo-con. He bitches about how they're screwing it up, though.

Dick Cheney - still very much involved in the "world transformation"

Don Rumsfailed - could be on his way out -- too soon to tell.

Jeb Bush - as you can see, he still has a job, governing Florida.

Charles Krauthammer - still writing his filthy columns, still stirring the pot.

Douglas Feith - he's the only one who's actually left the scene. He resigned as Deputy Sec. of State. But he's not in any kind of trouble.

Richard Perle, the "Prince of Darkness" - he's doing just great. Doing more arms deals than ever (the world has become rather unstable lately). He was on TV last week, defending Rummy. He said, "It's no big deal".
- - - - - - - - -

As you can see, ALL of these men are still very busy, very much involved. NOT ONE indictment on the horizon......
