The only place I listen to music radio is at work. If I want to listen to tunes at home, I launch my music service.

I didn't know much about her before this, but now I can't wait to further explore her artistry.

Thanks for the tip about the album -- that'll be the first place I'll look to listen.

7. Well, now that you mention it...
Edited on Sat Apr-22-06 02:40 PM by OneAngryDemocrat
I think that P!nk, Neil Young, The Dixie Chicks, Bright Eyes, Madonna, Roseanne Cash, Pearl Jam, The Beastie Boys, Kenye West, Eminem, Michael Franti, R.E.M., Green Day, NOFX, Anti-Flag, Billy Bragg, Ani DeFranco, Lizzie West, Lenny Kravitz, and a whole lot of other artists should get their butts out to some farm, somewhere in up-state New York, and make some mucho money for the anti-war movement, all up there on the same stage.

THAT'S what I think.

Visit my anti-war website, www.shockedandawful.com

40. She is, but she hasn't...
She has made public statements where in she has denounced the war, and is a member of Musicians Against the War, but has yet to record an anti-war song. This summer, that may change.

Follow this link to hear her song about the Arab/Israeli conflict, ''Western Wall'': http://www.rosannecash.com/music.html

30. Good stuff!
Bookmarked and listened to songs, great choices.

I have one you might be interested in adding to this list - Amerika by Rammstein

(Here's the translated lyrics)

We're all living in America
America is wonderful
We're all living in America
America, America

When there's dancing I want to lead
even if you're whirling around alone
Let yourselves be controlled a little
I'll show you how it really goes
We're making a nice round dance
Freedom is playing on all violins
Music is coming out of the White House
and Mickey Mouse is standing in front of Paris

We're all living in America
America is wonderful
We're all living in America
America, America

I know moves that are very useful
and I will protect you from missteps
And whoever doesn't want to dance at the end
doesn't know yet that they must
We're making a nice round dance
I will show you the way
Santa Claus is coming to Africa
and Mickey Mouse is standing in front of Paris

We're all living in America
America is wonderful
We're all living in America
America, America

We're all living in America
Coca-Cola, Wonderbra
We're all living in America
America, America

This is not a love song
This is not a love song
I don't sing my mother tongue
No, This is not a love song

We're all living in America
America is wonderful
We're all living in America
America, America

We're all living in America
Coca-Cola, sometimes war
We're all living in America
America, America

31. Heck, there are so many more to add to this list...

Add some of these that have taken anti-Bush stances in other concerts too:
Dave Matthews band
Keb Mo
Bruce Springsteen
Ben Harper
Dave Rovics
John McCutcheon
System of a Down
Sparta
Steve Earle
Gil-Scott Heron (Need to have an updated version of "Work for Peace")

And for some of us old farts:
James Taylor
Bonnie Raitt
Willie Nelson
John Cougar Mellencamp
Joan Baez
Country Joe McDonald
Jackson Browne
C.C.C.P. (if they could be brought together to do an updated version of "American Soviet")
Thompson Twins (if they would do updates to "Lies, Lies, Lies", "Don't Mess with Dr. Dream!" (to be "Don't Mess with Doctor Dean!"), and "Judy Do" (updated to reflect story of Judith Miller)
Rolling Stones (IF they are prepared to take credit for and perform "Sweet Neocon")
John Fogerty
Cat Stevens (aka Yusuf Islam) - IF we can get him into the country. If not, it would be a POWERFUL message to have a live satellite simulcast as its own form of protest with him performing from London, perhaps with 10,000 Maniacs and others doing his updated "Peace Train".
Gordon Lightfoot (if he could do a newer rendition of "Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald" that perhaps said something like "Talk to Sibel Edmonds, Fitzgerald".

I'm sure I could think of a lot more bands to add here if I had more time to spend now, but this would be a good sampling. This would certainly make the foundation for a REAL sequel to Woodstock, instead of those earlier less than soulful attempts to do so.

My nieces are 9 and 13. Pink sends such a self-respectful message. Far superior to all of the women with "Stupid Girl" images.

I had assumed that P!nk of the Dixie Chicks new CDs would be too ''deep'' for 'em... but, no - it's not. It's just right.

17. Should be Song of the Year! K and R

and emailed to your friends.

When you watch her perform it it is even more powerful.

Each word is meant to be etched in your brain and each line packs a wallop.

It should be the defining song of his Residency.

Bravo to Pink, classy lady!

21. my boys and i (a woman) are so damn tired of the male female
battle the world seems to be desperate to hatchet up a few notches. i dont care if it is the stupid girl shit going on or the (yes) stupid boy stuff. 8 year old and i listening to stupid girl, first her talking about the song, .... son said, there are a lot of stupid boys too. yes there are i say.....

keeps them balanced to see being human works with both genders, it is finding the higher in who we are and emphasising that, allowing that to be fed and allowed to grow. we truly are tired of the stupid stuff with both genders.

28. Is YouTube censoring Pink now?
Edited on Sun Apr-23-06 01:43 PM by calipendence
Just a 20-30 minutes ago, this video was showing up as todays #1 video viewed. Now it is nowhere to be found on Youtube's today's listings. I wonder if the Bushbots are trying to censor her more here too like they did in Rhapsody's ratings mentioned earlier. Note the # of views on the view page showing the video with 85886 views.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eDJ3cuXKV4

Go to the "Most viewed" today's ratings and the top clip shows 81871 views.

http://www.youtube.com/browse?s=mp&t=t&page=1

She should still be #1!

34. Pink speaks for me too
I have to be honest, I never liked her music that much. She seemed like a punk rockstar who's songs were "pop-ish" just to make money (a la Britney Spears and such). But this song is EXCELLENT and she has a couple of other good ones too. I support Pink 100% now. We need to defend her from the attacks we know she'll get from the right.

35. I'm impressed!
I knew who she was but hadn't paid much attention to her music. A couple of weeks ago she was on Oprah, talking about her "Stupid Girls" song and video, where she spoofs the likes of Spears, Hilton, and other celebs that seem to promote girls acting dumb. She is very passionate in her views, and has a super voice. I'll definitely be checking out that new CD. What a great role model for girls---smart, strong, sexy and talented.
